Mr. Cassie has more than 18 years experience in the areas of geotechnical,
geological and tailings engineering. The majority of his experience relates to mining
and pipeline developments in the arctic areas of Canada, Alaska and Russia.
Responsibilities include overall task and work scope planning, project management,
client liaison and liaison with regulatory agencies and attendance at technical
meetings and public hearings. Some relevant project engineering experience
includes the following:

Project manager for prefeasibility work on the High Lake Project in Nunavut.
Project involves two separate mines sites, connected by road to a proposed port
on the Arctic coastline. Provide site reconnaissance, airphoto interpretation,
assessment of permafrost conditions, site investigation and conceptual design
of mine waste facility and six dams. Also provided geomechanical input for pit
design.

Senior reviewer on the Ore and Waste Rock Storage Plan for the Ulu Mine
development program in Nunavut. assessment of mine waste run-off, expected
water quality concerns and proposed mitigation plans.

Principal engineer with respect to all engineering aspects of the Final
Reclamation and Closure Plan for Nanisivik Mine on Baffin Island. Responsible
for the tailings and waste rock cover design, assessment of talik and permafrost
engineering aspects along with quarry development (massive ground ice in
bedrock) and coordination of hydraulic engineering, geochemical and other
environmental aspects. Represented the client at numerous Technical Meetings
and Public Hearings.

Lead geotechnical engineer regarding the risk assessment, dam safety
performance and closure planning for the Down Valley Tailings Area at Faro
Mine, YT. Area includes three significant dams and spillways, diversion
channels and proximal waste dumps, all situated on discontinuous permafrost.
Numerous closure planning, closure options scoping reviews and cost-estimates
were prepared as input to the Final Closure Plan.

Principal engineer with respect to closure planning and final design for the
Discovery Mine, which was partially reclaimed earlier. Technical work includes
assessment of existing tailings cover (subject to frost issues), reclamation of a
disturbed borrow pit, permafrost monitoring, on-going water management, mine
opening closure design, crown pillar risk assessment and assessment and
coordination with ESA, site landfill design and cover geochemical issues.
Providing engineering input to the Comprehensive Remediation Plan for the site,
including community consultation and regulatory assistance.

Undertook a technical review of the proposed Partially Saturated Granular
Cover (PSGC) approach for the tailings at Lupin Mine. Formed a multidisciplinary team of geotechnical engineers, permafrost scientists and
geochemists to review potential technical concerns with the proposed approach.

Lead geotechnical engineer for the initial site reconnaissance and siting of all
proposed mine infrastructure (access roads, plant site, mine waste, borrow pits,
etc.) for Winspear Resources’ Snap Lake Diamond Project in the NWT.

Lead geotechnical engineer for investigation, design, construction and
performance monitoring of the Processed Kimberlite Containment Facility for the
Snap Lake Diamond Project, NT, owned by De Beers Canada Mining Inc.

Lead geotechnical engineer regarding dam safety and water diversion
structures’s performance and closure planning for the Down Valley Tailings Area
at Faro Mine, YT.

Task leader for the prefeasibility design of all proposed tailings and waste dump
for the Diavik Diamond Project in the NWT for Kennecott and RTZ. Capital,
operating and closure costs estimated for complete life cycle of the project,
along with specialist design services for processed kimberlite dams and waste
dumps on continuous permafrost.

Specialist geotechnical engineer responsible for initial assessment of technical
issues and costing assessment for access road and mine waste components
relative to proposed plan to purchase Sukhoi Log Gold Project in Russia.
Proposed a tailings dam greater than 150 m in height on discontinuous
permafrost.

Lead geotechnical engineer responsible for the stability assessment, risk
assessment and performance evaluation of a continuously frozen, upstreammethod constructed tailings dam at Nanisivik Mine on Baffin Island. Also
responsible for geotechnical and permafrost engineering components of the
closure plan for the mine.

Project engineer for permafrost and geotechnical investigations, granular
resources surveys, design of foundations, tailings dam and tailings containment,
waste dumps, haul roads and water supply and construction monitoring for
aspects of the Kubaka Mine, located on continuous permafrost in Far East
Russia.

Project Manager and Principal Engineer for the evaluation of short-term (three
year time frame) management options for the Vangorda diversion flume at Faro
Mine, Yukon. Geological and structural mapping was undertaken to assess the
cause of rockfalls damaging the underlying flume sections.

Undertook detailed cost-estimate and assessment of technical issues with
respect to the closure cost for the Lupin Mine, NU. Cost-estimate included all
direct capital costs along with indirects and potential risks.

Provide Kinross Environmental Division will outline of potential issues with
regards to the closure planning for Lupin Mine. Reviewed other mine closure
regulatory approval processes in NU and provided strategic advice.

Principal engineer regarding geotechnical and permafrost stability issues with
respect to the Ketza River Mine. Also undertook a preliminary cost estimate of
the closure capital +costs and undertook a risk assessment to estimate potential
costs for catastrophic failures at the site.

Field Engineer for Yukon Energy/Acres International near Teslin, YT for
investigation of ground conditions at proposed hydroelectric site in permafrost.
