1224 - DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS.
1224.25b - Region 1 Organization Structure Codes. Forest Supervisors and Unit
Directors have responsibility for informing Human Resources of any organizational
changes which require revision of their organizational structure codes. See FSM
1225.04e for instructions on requesting approval, and FSM 1224.24 for instructions on
establishing, changing or inactivating organizational structure codes at NFC. Changes to
organizational structures can affect the employing office codes, accounting station codes,
and contact point codes.

As changes are made to organizational and accounting codes, the contact point codes will
also change accordingly. TMGT 003 at NFC, T&A Contact Point Name & Address,
should be updated when changes are made.

2. R1 Employing Office Codes. Four-digit employing office codes are also referred to as
submitting office numbers (SON's) or personnel office identifiers (POI's) and are
assigned by the Department. Send requests for additions, changes, or deletions to the
Washington Office, Personnel Management Staff, on OPM Form 1396. Department
approval will be requested and you will be notified when granted.

3. R1 Accounting Station Codes. The accounting station code is included in each
employee's individual position record in the PMSO database at NFC. It is also included
with a six-digit management code on source documents as obligations are incurred or as
payments are made by NFC. This allows the obligations and payment information to be
distributed to the proper unit. NFC forwards accounting reports to both the accounting
center and units as shown in the accounting station code.
