o Can make order with as little at $0 down

Final payments are due March 1; orders delivered after spring break.
Students NEED cap, gown, tassel, stole for $39. The rest of the items are extras.
o If you purchase a class ring, you get a free cap and gown

Graduation is a CEREMONY not a party-like celebration.
It is for the families, not just the student
Proper attire is expected
o Boys-collared shirt, tie, slacks, dress shoes (no athletic shoes or flip flops)
o Girls-slacks, skirt, or dress, nice shoes (no athletic shoes or flip flops)
o No exceptions; let us know if there is a financial need

SAT & ACT college entrance tests
o Take by December deadline for application to universities this year
o Take sometime this year for future application to universities
 Test now while still in school, rather than after you graduate
FAFSA should be filled out in January (the earlier the better)
o Submit early in the month and make changes later
o Do NOT pay for FAFSA! This is a FREE application for Federal Student Aid
o This is the FIRST step for ALL schools in finding $ to help pay college
expenses
o Information is sent to 6-10 colleges
o College Bowl Sunday is in January at local colleges to help with your FAFSA






Scholarship applications take time and effort, but can pay off!
Local Scholarship Portfolio will be presented in senior social studies classrooms in
December and will be available on-line
o Scholarships are from local organizations and range from $200-$2000
o Due Friday, March 29th before Spring Break – no late submittals will be
accepted

Monday, June 11: Class picture, practice & awards assembly, Graduation
Class Picture
o Students need to be at the gym w/caps, gowns, stoles, tassels by 7:10 a.m.
Practice & Awards Assembly, 7:30-11ish a.m.
o Students practice line up, marching in, seating
o All school awards assembly for all students
Ceremony for the family and friends
o Doors open at 6:00 for friends and family
o Students enter the theatre at 6:30
 Dress code (ex. Boys: collared shirt, tie, slacks, no tennis shoes or flip
flops. Girls: slacks, skirt, dress, no flip flops or tennis shoes)
 Students arrive in nice clothes; carrying their cap, gown, tassel, sash
(they don’t bring anything else-no cell phones, purses, etc)
o Ceremony starts at 7:00 SHARP
6 tickets per family - this number is based on safety capacity and fire code regulations
Handicap requests: Stephanie Hoidal in the counseling office
Donette will be photographing the students receiving their diplomas
Senior Video – baby picture and senior picture due March 29 – no late pictures will be
accepted. Please label. No media formatting. No smaller than wallet size
After Ceremony students go to the library for diplomas; parents go outside for pictures

Reading and Writing HSPE – Students MUST pass
o They can retake Reading and Writing in March.
o They can submit Collection of Evidence with Mrs. Davis if they did not meet
standard on Reading and Writing. Those students have been notified.
Students must pass one Math End of Course exam. Make ups will be in January. A
Collection of Evidence option will also be available. See Mr. Leach with questions.

Communication is key!
Periodic emails, phone calls, letters re: student status will be sent
Call or email us with questions or to set up a conference
If your student needs a letter of recommendation, please make sure he/she requests it
with a due date and provides us with a copy of the Letter of Recommendation –
Personal Data form so we can write a personalized letter
Running Start students should check on-line, make an appointment, or call with
questions. They will need to communicate with community college and high school
instructors to plan time to take finals, attend Cougar Path sessions, and participate in
the Cougar Path senior project presentations towards graduation.

 If deadline not met, student will meet with Cougar Path advisor
o March 29th: Hours must be completed
 Includes brief written narrative, evidence of project (pix, documents,
etc.), mentor evaluation, log of hours and notes

o May 9th: Senior Project oral presentation

We transport students to and from the venue by busses
Class of 2013 Calendar is being sold as a fundraiser
This is not a school sponsored event
Locker rooms will be open after graduation for students to change for the senior party

