Parent Involvement Survey in Special Education Sample Articles
We’ve been listening!
We really do take the information we learn from the annual Parent Involvement Survey in
Special Education seriously. As a result of last year’s survey, we’ve….(list some things you’ve
done). The Parent Involvement Survey in Special Education is sent by the NH Department of
Education to all families of children with IEPs each spring. We want to hear from you! This
survey contains a unique opportunity for you to share how well you feel the school district is
involving you in your child’s education. Keep your eye out for the survey!
Have you seen this envelope?
We know, strange question, but if your child has an IEP you should keep a look out for it! Each
spring the NH Department of Education sends home a Parent Involvement Survey in Special
Education in an envelope that looks like the picture above. This survey is an opportunity for you
to share how well you feel your school district is involving you in your child’s education. The
state uses a company called Measurement Incorporated to make sure that the survey is
completely anonymous. The information learned from the survey helps the NH Department of
Education and your local school district better understand the needs of families of children with
disabilities and find ways to strengthen family-school partnerships in special education. Look for
this envelope and your survey to come in the mail in the March timeframe.
