TRFC Player Release, Transfer and Add Policy
Coaches or Team Members of TRFC teams are not allowed to approach or contact, either
directly or indirectly, any player (travel or rec) or any player’s parents during the fall or spring
playing seasons to ask, encourage or entice said player to practice with said coach’s team, to
leave his/her current team or to move to said coach’s team during the fall or spring playing
seasons – unless prior to such contact:
(A) a “coach to coach” agreement is reached between the player’s current coach and the
requesting coach and the requesting coach is given express prior approval to contact the player
by the Executive Board (EB); or
(B) if a “coach to coach” agreement is not reached, the requesting coach is given express prior
approval to contact the player by the EB.
All approvals will be granted/denied by the EB in its sole and absolute discretion on a case by
case basis.
NOTE: Coaches of travel teams are permitted to invite any age appropriate players to attend
any TRFC open tryout for a competitive team so long as said tryout is for the purpose of
selecting players for the team’s following new fall season.
Coaches that want to transfer, release or add-on a player during the seasonal year must have
the prior approval of the officer appointed by the EB to validate such transactions or by the full
EB. No transfer, release or add-on shall occur without said approval.
The EB shall have “final authority” in all matters relating to this policy. As such, the EB shall
have the full and final authority to arbitrate, hear, settle and/or rule on any and all
controversies, issues and matters that may arise from or in connection with this policy. All
decisions shall be made on a “case by case basis” by the EB by a 2/3 majority vote and shall be
binding and final as to all issues and parties.
Protocol for Player/Coach Releases/Add-ons/Transfers which must go through the TRFC
Registration team.
Player/Coach Releases: (documents and approvals required to release a player or coach)
1.
Obtain approval of the release from TRFC’s Travel Teams/Problem Liaison. You will need
a properly executed NJYS Player/Coach Release form on which the Travel
Teams/Problem Liaison’s signature appears (See #2 below). A registration committee
member may sign on behalf of the Travel Teams/Problem Liaison after receiving written
authorization from the Travel Teams/Problem Liaison approving the applicable release.
Complete two copies of the NJYS Player/Coach Release form. Have the form signed by
the player or coach to be released. Make sure the signature matches the player/coach
card (NOTE: there are three signature lines on this form, the first is for the released
Player/Coach, the second is for the Club representative (TRFC’s Travel Teams/Problem
Liaison) and the third is for the District Commissioner).
3. Your original State Roster (signed and stamped by the District Commissioner) showing
the player or coach on the roster. (Keep a photo copy of original)
4. Two copies of a newly created/printed State Roster showing the player or coach as
dropped.
5. Provide these documents to a registration committee member for review and approval.
2.
Player/Coach Add-ons/Transfers: (documents and approvals required to add/transfer a
player or coach)
