WHERE TO GO AND WHERE TO STAY
The San Antonio Rose Palace is a very nice equestrian center located in northwest San Antonio, Tx. The
Facilities include permanent stalls, wash racks, covered arenas, outdoor arena, and concessions. The
stalls and arenas are under one roof and there is electricity and water available.
Directions to the rose palace: On I.H. 10, approximately 5 miles north of FM 1604 (Anderson Loop),take
the Boerne Stage Road exit, If traveling west, use exit #55l. Boerne Stage Rd/Leon Springs: If traveling
east, use exit #550, Ralph Fair Road/Boerne Stage Road. (Please note: if your are traveling east on I.H.
10 do NOT take exit#543, Boerne Stage Rd/Cascade Caverns Rd.) After exiting the freeway, take
Boerne Stage Road west 3.1 miles, If arriving with a travel or horse trailer, continue straight ahead to the
entrance for vehicles with trailers: otherwise, turn right, then left into the front parking lot for vehicles
without trailers.
The Rose Palace boasts several hundred hotel/motel rooms within 10 miles of the facility. 7 of those
miles being interstate highway. These are a few of the closest hotels. Please get specific directions
when making your reservations.

The AMHR horse show is sponsored by and sanctioned under the rules of the American Miniature Horse
Registry, Morton, Illinois. The AMHA horse show is sponsored by and sanctioned under the rules of the
American Miniature Horse Association, Alvarado, TX. The AMHA show is qualified for both AMHA World
Show Points and SAAMCH High Point Awards. ALL HORSES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH AMHR TO
COMPETE IN THE AMHR SHOW. ALL HORSESMUST BE REFISTERED WITH AMHA TO COMPETE IN THE
AMHA SHOW. YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY (front) and back where necessary) OF REGISTRATION PAPERS
OF EACH HORSE ENTERED FOR BOTH SHOWS. FOR AMHR SHOW PURPOSES. ALL FOALS OF CURRENT
YEAR MUST BE REGISTERED BY JULY 1 OF THAT YEAR. It is the exhibitors’ responsibility to familiarize
themselves with and to follow the rules as set forth in the official Rulebook of AMHR and/or AMHA. The
show steward for the AMHR Show and Show Manager for the AMHA Show reserves the right to settle all
questions, differences and disputes arising out of or connected with or incident to the show within the
boundaries of the current show rules and to cancel or combine classes. NO LOGOS, NAMES OR OTHER
IDENTIFICATION OF PERSON OR FARM WILL BE ALLOWED ON ANY EXHIBITOR, HORSE OR VEHICLE IN
THE SHOW ARENA.
AMHR Measurement of Horses: Thursday – 4 PM to 8 PM
Friday and Saturday – 7AM to 8 PM
AMHA Measurement of Horses: Saturday - 12 noon to 8PM
Sunday – Starting at 7AM
NOTE: If you are unable to register/measure on the previous day AND if you want to participate in
any of the FIRST FIVE CLASSES of the day, you MUST be on the grounds and ready to
register/measure by 7 AM of that day. If you have a current year measuring card, bring it. Copies of
your registration papers are needed to measure for the AMHR show – AMHR rules require the show
steward to compare the horse being measured against its registration papers.
Vender Spaces: A limited number of vendor spaces are available on a first come, first served basis
and must be reserved in advance. Refer to the Entry Fee page for the cost per day. PLEASE CALL
THE SHOW MANAGER PRIOR TO THE SHOW FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO RESERVE YOUR
SPACE.
All pets must be on a leash. NO EXCEPTIONS. The San Antonio Rose Palace will impound your pet and
impose a $200.00 fine for any pets not complying. No pets, leashed or not, are allowed in the vendor, staging or arena
areas.
Food/Beverages: The San Antonio Rose Palace exclusively operates food and beverage sales and services. The
concession stand will be open for the entire time the actual show is in progress. No food or beverages are to be
brought onto the premises by any persons.. In Accordance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, NO
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMISES for resale or private consumption.
The Rose Palace holds a license and will sell alcoholic beverages.
RV and Trailer Hookups: RV and trailer hookups are available for electricity and/or water. Refer to the Entry Fee Page
for the cost per night. There is no on-site sewage dumping. RV’s and trailers are to be hooked up in the designated
areas only. The connection boxes must be unlocked by Rose Palace personnel, so advance arrangements must be
made if you plan to arrive after 8 PM.
Stalls/Shavings: Refer to the Entry Fee page for stall and shavings costs. The stall cost is a flat rate for the entire
weekend. All horses must be stalled. The stalls are 12 X 12 slatted wood with dirt floors. No nails or screws are to be
driven into the walls, NO BEDDING OF ANY TYPE MAY BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMISES. Shavings are sold at the
Rose Palace. Please indicate the number of bags of shavings you will need and pay for them along with your pre-entry.
Your shavings will be in your stalls before you arrive. Additional bags may be purchased at the show if needed.
Check-In and Departure: Check-in time will NOT begin UNTIL 2 PM on Thursday for the AMHR show and 12 noon on
Saturday for the AMHA show. Departure should be within a reasonable time after the last class of the show. The Show
office closes at 8 PM each night. If arriving later, please make arrangements with the show manager. The telephone #

Liberty: Be sure to have your Liberty music, cassette or CD, to the show office THE DAY BEFORE YOUR CLASS. All
music must be keyed up and marked with Exhibitor number and track to be played. Do not let go of your horse until
you are sure the music is correct. Show management is not responsible for any technical errors with your music.

AMHR Pet Mini High Point Awards
There will be a Pet Mini High Point awarded to the individual receiving the most points in the Pet Mini
Classes. All children entered in these classes will automatically be eligible. Classes offered at the lunch
break, Saturday. Awards pre-entered later in the day, Saturday.
SAAMHC High Point Awards
To compete for the SAAMHC High Points, you MUST be a member of SAAMHC, you MUST pre-enter, and
you MUST specify which of the high points that the horse or the one horse/one exhibitor team is
competing in by completing the high point entry form(s). The awards will be presented at our annual
Christmas Party or next year’s Family Fiesta Show. Memberships are $20.00 per year per family and are
valid through 12/31 of each year. Members will receive the quarterly club newsletter along with
notification and discounts on all club sponsored seminars and events. To take advantage of our club
benefits, including competing for the High Point Awards at this show, please mark ”Join the Club” on the
Entry Fees page and include $20.00 with your payment for entering the show. Each High Point has a A
Division that combines points earned in the AMHR Division A classes and all the AMHA classes: and a B
Division that combines points earned in the AMHR Division B Classes.
High Points for People
The High Point for People Awards for both amateur and youth will be based on the highest number of
points in eligible classes per exhibitor/horse team. The exhibitor must declare which horse he/she is
going to team with and may declare more than one team if desired. This does NOT mean the exhibitor
may not show other horses.
High Points for Horses
The High Point for Horses Awards will be based on the highest number of points per horse being shown
by one or more exhibitors. Includes all classes that the horse Is eligible to compete in, Including Stakes
Classes. ***

Performance High Point – includes a minimum of 3 classes – l driving, 1 hunter or jumper, and 1
obstacle. The final point total does include All performance classes the horse is eligible to compete in,

will count toward the minimum as one or the other – not both – depending on other classes entered. ***

PET MINI CLASSES: These are classes open for children seven years and younger to show their horse, registered or
not. An adult may accompany the child in the ring. Although the Pet Mini Classes do not require pre-entry, please
make every effort to do so by 8PM , Friday night. If bringing unregistered horse to show, they still need the required
health papers and are subject to class and office fees. All Pet Mini Classes are non-rated classes, and are judged by
only one judge. Each exhibitor will receive a class award and be sure to check out the High Point Awards, too!
NOTE: For safety purposes. NO YOUTH OF ANY AGE MAY SHOW A STALLION OLDER THAN A WEANLING IN ANY
PET MINI CLASS.
Pet Mini Leadline: Horse is ridden by exhibitor, led by an adult 18 or over, at a walk both ways of the ring, halted and
stood quietly. Western or English tack and attire is allowed. Judged on rider’s ability to handle and aid the horse.
Pet Mini Horsemanship: Show in hand at a walk, trot, and stand, judged on the child’s ability to show the horse.
Pet Mini Trail: Show in hand, with some jogging, completing a pattern of three obstacles; judged on accuracy of
pattern.
Pet Mini Bucket Race: Show in hand completing a pattern around buckets configured like a rodeo barrel race; judged
on accuracy of pattern and time.
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS – First Place winners of all Amateur Halter Classes advance to the Amateur Champion of
Champion class. All Grand Champions advance to the Open Champion of Champions.
WESTERN COUNTRY PLEASURE – Horses are shown as they are in Country Pleasure Driving, except with a lower
headset.
The State of Texas Animal Health Regulations for ALL HORSES require each horse to be accompanied by an original
(NO COPIES) of negative Coggins (EIA) test current within 12 months, and for ALL OUT of STATE HORSES ONLY a
health certificate current within 45 days. Remember, a copy of both sides of a horse’s registration papers must also
accompany each horse entered. Geldings Status must be reflected on the registration certificate. A copy of the Stallion
Testicular Report for any senior stallion is required for AMHA. Youth and amateur exhibitors must be members of
ASPC/AMHR and/or AMHA and provide their names, numbers, and classes on the previous page(s) and include of copy
of their cards as required by AMHR and/or AMHA. Youth exhibitors must include their birthdays. Exhibitors wishing to
complete for SAAMHC high points must be a member of SAAMHC, must pre-enter, and must fill out the High Point Entry
form(s).
Amateur and youth exhibitors will be required to submit a copy of their current Amateur or Youth cards with horse
show entries. If an exhibitor does not have an amateur or youth card at the show, they may apply and pay a fee at the
show.
All senior stallions are required to present an Official AMHA Certificate of Veterinary Inspection of Stallion for
cryptorchidism or monorchidism to show management prior to showing in an AMHA-approved show.

There will be no refunds given without a letter from a veterinarian stating the horse’s inability to show.
THERE IS A $50 RETURNED CHECK FEE. Any person making payment with a non-negotiable check or money
order, or refuses to pay an entry fee, stall fee, etc., may be subject to a disciplinary action pursuant to the rules
of the AMHR and/or AMHA.

This show is approved and conducted under the rules of the AMHR/ASPC or AMHA and is open only to horses registered with
the AMHR/ASPC or AMHA. I hereby enter these Miniature Horses in the above listed classes, and by so entering, I agree to
abide by and be bound by all rules and regulations of ASPC/AMHR and/or AMHA, agree to hold harmless the managers and
sponsors of the show from all liability in case of accident, theft, injuries or loss in any way associated with my participation in this
