GENERAL SHOW RULES, PLEASE READ
Stallions – in the interest of safety , stallions may only be ridden / handled by persons over the age of
14years – with the exception of small breeds Mountain & Moorland stallions, where the rider / handler
must have attained their 12th birthday by the 1st January in the current year. Stallions are not permitted in
any young handler, junior ridden M&M, lead rein or first ridden classes.
Ages are taken from 1st Jan 2014
Bits & Bridles – In all classes, unless otherwise stated, any suitable bit is acceptable.
Judging of classes – no animal or rider may leave the ring without permission of the judge and ring
steward. Once the class has commenced there shall be no change of rider, except in a championship when
a rider finds that they have more than on exhibit to compete. The substitute rider must be eligible for the
class and the ring steward informed of the change of rider.
Hats – correctly secured British Standard skull caps/riding hats nos. PAS015, EN1384, (USA), ASTMF1163
that meet current safety standards MUST be worn by all riders.
Ear rings / Piercing – in the interest of safety, no ear rings, piercing or visible jewellery should be worn
whilst mounted.
Spurs / Dress Spurs – are not permitted in any pony class, Show canes – are not to exceed 75cms. Hunting
crops are permitted.
Handles on saddles – are permitted in lead rein classes.
Contagious Disease –all exhibitors are asked to be aware of animals on the showground and ensure that
all exhibits are fit and well. If any exhibitor has reason to believe that an animal is unfit, please report this
to the show office.
Dogs – Must be kept on leads at all times and exhibitors Must clean up after their dog.
No person shall ill treat animals at any time, whether by misuse /excessive use of the whip, bit or any item
of saddlery or in any other way whatsoever!
No behaviour of an offensive, abusive or unpleasant manner to any official will be tolerated. Any act of
discourtesy to any judge, steward of any show official on the part of the competitor groom, rider, or agent
of an animal, will, a the discretion of such official disqualify that animal from being judged, in which case
entry fees, prizes and charges will be forfeited. Exhibitors are reminded of their responsibility for the
actions of others within their party.
Entry fees – are not refundable unless a veterinary / doctors certificate is produced.
It is recommened that everyperson has there own third party liablility insurance.
The organisers/venue can not be held responsible for any accident.
No lunging in the arenas at any time, cars and lorries are parked at owners own risk.
All rubbish and litter to be removed from site or placed in bins provided, please do not muck out your
lorry in the lorry park
This is a one off Charity Show to raise funds for IT’S ON THE BALL, which is a local
charity , new to the area to help men and there families with testicular cancer. So please
everyone enjoy the day and due to so many generous sponsors all funds raised on the day
will go straight to the Charity. Your support is most appreciated and hope everyone has a
fun day x
