The TIDE Awards – created as a follow up of the OSMOSE awards developed in the framework of the European NICHES project ( 2004-2007 ) – aim to reward local authorities that have shown the courage to introduce innovative and daring measures to meet the urban transport challenges they are facing in a sustainable and effective way.
These Awards will look at the most promising new concepts, initiatives and projects which have the potential to become a
‘mainstream’ urban transport policy application in the future.
Applications can be submitted for 3 categories:
- Innovative transport city
- Innovative transport region
- Innovative transport project (involving public and/or private partners)
The Award is open to European local and regional authorities and their local partners. Local/regional authorities wishing to participate in the Award have to submit a completed application form of maximum 10 pages, which may be complemented with supporting illustrating materials.

The winners will be selected by a panel of urban transport experts. Successful applicants receive a TIDE certificate will be promoted in the TIDE study tour catalogue, and will gain
EU-wide recognition. They will be invited to the TIDE final conference
The TIDE Awards will be presented to the winners during the final conference of the TIDE project in 15-16 September 2015 in Barcelona.
