Dialogue
A newly-married couple, Rose and Jack, wants to enjoy their honeymoon in a foreign
country, and now they’re at a travel agency to ask about some suggested itineraries.
R: Rose
J: Jack TA: Travel agent
TA: Good morning. How may I help you?
R: Umm… We are really hoping to go abroad for our honeymoon.
TA: Certainly. Do you have any preferences? For example, would you like to visit
a place that is cooler, or one that is warmer? Also, do you prefer nature-themed
tours, or tours that are more historical-themed?
J: Well, we haven’t really thought that far yet, I’m afraid.
TA: Alright … how about starting things off by taking a look at a couple of our most
popular itineraries? Here are two packages for you to consider. One is seven days
in the U.K., and the other is seven days in Hawaii.
R: Can you tell us a little about each one?
TA: Of course. Please take a look at these brief introductions to each of the
itineraries.
(Passes the itinerary paper to Rose and Jack)
The U.K. and Hawaii are both worth a visit. The former focuses on both historical and
contemporary sites, allowing you to experience authentic Britain culture. Hawaii,
on the other hand, tends to offer a much more exotic culture. In addition, you can
also explore nature sites all over the island of Oahu.
J:
Yeah, I could really go for that. Hey, Rose, I think Hawaii is the place…
R: I don’t think so. I mean, Hawaii is very enticing, but England sounds more
charming. And besides, do you really want to pass up the chance to let your bride
do some shopping in London?
J: Fine, England it is, then. But as long as we’re talking about London, I’d love to
go to the London Transportation Museum and some of the trendy sports bars.
TA: I can arrange that for you. Do you have any other questions?
J: No, at least not right at the moment.
R: You’ve really given us a big hand.
TA: That’s what I’m here for—I’m just glad to be of assistance. If you have other
questions, please contact us at any time. And don’t forget to make your reservation
with us as soon as your trip date is set.
J: We’ll be sure to do that. Thank you very much.
TA: Please, don’t mention it. It’s the least I could do.
