Barbara Wingrove Recognition Champion Award Nomination Deadline: June 6, 2008 The Barbara Wingrove Recognition Champion Award is named after Barbara Wingrove, HR Consultant, for her 20+ years of service and leadership to Employee Appreciation. The award will be given annually to member(s) of UMHS who have demonstrated unwavering commitment, dedication and support to their department’s recognition strategies through individual or team efforts. The recipient of this annual award will be recognized at the June Employee Recognition Reception, on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:15pm in Ford Amphitheater. Because you work every day to bring our mission to life, our patients and families and visitors really do feel that they come first because you make their difficult times a little easier. When it’s you who is having a difficult time, or could use an extra dose of enthusiasm, who do you turn to? Is there someone in your department who is always helping to drive home recognition and has created programs and come up with ideas to help keep morale up? In an organization where we celebrate over 13,000 You’re Supers per year, we know there are individuals who are carrying forth the real spirit of recognition in your departments! Eligibility: Any UMHS employee, with the exception of past recipients, is eligible to be nominated. The UMHHC Employee Recognition Committee will review all nominations and will conduct the selection process. What does a Recognition Champion look like?? Involved in setting recognition direction for their department(s) Coaches department on ways to recognize staff in alignment with the department’s goals Actively supports and participates in recognition within the department Customizes recognition efforts to their department’s culture and employees Reviews initiatives regularly to ensure alignment with department priorities Supports the formation of recognition committees or teams Promotes staff achievements through a variety of methods Considers creative budget strategies for formal and informal recognition Other Guidelines: Only UMHS employees may nominate an employee for this award.
