Teacher Spotlight
Introducing...Ms. Arcamone
Ms. Arcamone is 748’s newest 3rd Grade,
ELA and Social Studies teacher. Ms.
Arcamone grew up on Long Island and
just recently moved to Manhattan, to be
closer to work. Long Island to Brooklyn
was a very long commute! Ms. Arcamone
always knew she wanted to be a teacher,
and this is her third year teaching.
Throughout her life she was fortunate
enough to have amazing teachers that
inspired her to become an educator as
well. Ms. Arcamone wanted to have a
positive effect on her students’ lives just
as her teachers did for her. Before
joining our school, she worked at a
charter school in Brooklyn where she
taught 4th and 5th grade. Ms. Arcamone is
a foodie, and her favorite is sweets! Her
classroom is proof of that because it’s
decorated with a cupcake theme. She
also loves to cook and try new recipes for
her family.
Ms. Arcamone was raised around animals;
4 dogs, 2 cats and a guinea pig. Last year
she adopted a puppy named Oliver who is
the cutest thing ever!
A HUGE congratulations to Ms. Arcamone
on her upcoming nuptials this June!
Between planning her wedding and
starting work at 748 (“the greatest
school ever”), this has been one of the
greatest, most exciting years of her life!

Penny Auction ticket purchase deadline.
$50 per ticket includes a sit down dinner,
unlimited wine and soda, coffee, tea and cake. For
your convenience there is also a cash bar and valet
parking. Basket and 50/50 tickets will be available
for purchase at the door.

Competition. If you are interested in
competing all you need to do is write and
illustrate your own picture book on any
subject you’d like. However, students are
encouraged to create books that are History
based. They can be fictional with historical
backgrounds or non-fiction books. Deadline
for submission to your teacher is Wednesday,
January 14th. Good luck to all who enter!
Dress Code
Please remember we are a uniform school and
our children are expected to wear their
dress code or school spirit wear every day.

**REMINDERS**

Penny Auction:
 Please remember to purchase your
tickets to our event as soon as possible.
Last day for purchase is January 8th. If
you do not have an invitation you can send
an envelope in with your child. Please put
your child’s name, class, amount of
tickets and amount enclosed and address
it to PTA Penny Auction.
 50/50 tickets are available for
purchase during school hours (and at the
event itself). They are $1 each or 6
tickets for $5. Please see Tracy
Serrano, or any PTA E-board member
for purchase. Good luck!
 Please continue to send in your $5
donation toward individual class baskets.
 If you’d like to donate an individual
basket from your family we would love to
include it in the auction.
 Items still needed: baskets, ribbons
and bows and any NEW items you have to
offer.
-BJ’s is still accepting new and renewal
membership applications. Please send them in.
The school gets back $5 for each
membership.
