Prince William and Catherine Middleton are very excited about
getting married at Westminister Abbey. They can’t wait to walk
down that aisle and take their vows however it needs to be
decorated to the highest standard.
They are hoping to have purple ribbon rolled along the length of
both sides of the aisle and along the length of each of the pews.
The aisle measures 3560cm in length and each pew measures 15
metres in length. In total, there are 40 pews.
How much purple ribbon will they need to buy?
Good Luck! Our future King and Queen are depending upon you!

The royals want the most beautiful cake you
can imagine. The cake must have 7 tiers.
Starting from the lowest tier, each tier going
up must be thinner than the previous one.
There must be a gap of 30mm between each
tier. The height of the cake must reach
2metres.
How thick can you make each tier to ensure
that it reaches the correct height?
Good Luck! The Monarchy is depending upon you!

The Royals are a generous bunch! They have said that as we are
celebrating at Bushmead by having a royal lunch, they will pay for
half of all of the food! The school cook is anticipating on spending
quite a bit. Sandwiches will cost around £500. The cost of smoked
salmon is extortionate and will come to £875 and Brown Windsor
soup at the cost of £299.
The cook is trying to please all and has decided to splash out on
roast venison at £1149, accompanied with King Edward potatoes
at £350; royal purple cabbage at £78 and petite pois at £567 (as
they are imported from France). If you don’t fancy venison then
you can have Turkey crown which costs £649. For dessert, Royal
jelly at £289 accompanied with Battenburg cake for £599.
How much will the royals pay altogether?
Good Luck! The future of the country’s budget deficit is in your
hands!

Prince William and his future wife Catherine are really excited
about their big day. Prince William is hoping one of his best
friends, Bruce, can attend the wedding. The problem is that he is
travelling all the way from Australia.
Bruce will catch a plane from Sydney to Turkey which is a distance
of 7791 miles. He will then travel by road to Germany which is
about 983 miles. From there Bruce will get a train to France which
might be delayed but is around 292 miles away. He is then hoping
to catch the Eurostar from Paris to London Waterloo station which
about 211 miles. After all this travelling, Bruce will then need to
get a taxi to Westminister Abbey which is about ½ a mile. (Phew!)
How far will Bruce have to travel to get to his best friend’s
wedding? (If he can be bothered!)
The future of Prince William’s friendship with his best friend lies in your hands.
Good luck!
