We try to keep what we offer fresh each year and welcome new ideas for submission. To help us get a clear idea of what you are offering, please fill in this as fully as possible. The spoken word, storytelling and literature programme starts from 2pm on Thursday 18th July and runs right through to the end of Sunday 21st July. We programme a variety of storytelling sessions, workshops, author’s talks and readings plus over twelve hours of spoken word mainly for Lyrical Lostwood performances and The Social. The emphasis is on engaging, performative work, which will reel audiences in, whether it be with serious and thought-provoking lyrics or witty and wry words. We will consider applications which include a musical element, provided the act has spoken word at its core. We also programme around four hours of workshops, through which festival goers can learn more about writing and performance in spoken word, and try things out for themselves in a friendly and supportive environment. Before you get started on your application, please read the following carefully: Our response - Your application will be forwarded to the member of our team dealing with spoken word and literature, and they will contact you if they need further information. We are always overwhelmed with applications so unfortunately can't promise that we will be able to respond to everyone. If you haven’t heard from us by the end of April, we're sorry but you weren't successful this time. Fees and Expenses - We operate with a very tight budget and are unable to offer spoken word performers a monetary fee. Instead, we typically offer a guest ticket and a couple of food/drinks vouchers to each performer. We are able to offer a small monetary fee for spoken word workshops. It should also be noted that we very rarely charge our audience anything to see/take part in the entertainments. Deadline - We will be confirming bookings constantly, so please post your application in as soon as possible, but the final deadline is 19th April, although the earlier we receive your application the better chance you have of being accepted. Submitting Your Application - Please ensure every section of the form is completed, making sure that all supporting material/attachments is/are clearly labeled with your name and the name of the project. Then either e-mail it back to us at otherents@larmertreefestival.co.uk or post it to: Larmer Tree Festival, PO BOX 1790, Salisbury, Wiltshire SP5 5WA.
