Instructions – Decimal Multiplication

Multiply

1. Select Multiply

2. Select number of whole digits for first and second number

3. Select number of decimal digits for first and second number

4. Move the decimal point to the proper location

6. Check your answers

7. Select a new problem

5. Perform the multiplication

Select the Multiply radio button.

Select the number of whole digits that go before the decimal point for the first number.

Select the number of decimal digits that go after the decimal point for the first number.

Repeat for the second number.

Move the decimal point in the answer to the correct location.

Perform the multiplication. Each yellow square will contain one digit. The square that is color blue is the square where the digit will be entered.

Move to each of the squares by using the arrow keys or the mouse. If you use the mouse, click on the appropriate square.

Check your answer by clicking on Check Answer .

Once you have fixed any errors, click on New Problem to select a new problem.

Note: At any time you can change the number of digits before and after the decimal point. After doing so, select New Problem.

6. Select New Problem

Select the SOL Practice radio button.

Select the number of whole digits that go before the decimal point for the first number.

Select the number of decimal digits that go after the decimal point for the first number.

Repeat for the second number.

Perform the multiplication. Then select the correct answer from the choices A, B, C, or D.

Check your answer by clicking on Check Answer .

Click on New Problem to select a new problem.
