WOODVILLE DISTRICTS TENNIS ASSOCIATION Affiliated with Tennis SA STRATEGIC PLAN Established 1949 1 of 5 Aug2000 MISSION STATEMENT To ensure that the WOODVILLE DISTRICTS TENNIS ASSOCIATION, part of the TENNIS SA structure, is a strong, effective Association. PHILOSOPHY To provide competition and associated tennis opportunities for member clubs, and their members, promoting tennis as an enjoyable, healthy sport for people of all ages and abilities. To support and encourage clubs in their aims to provide competition and social tennis and other activities for their local communities, including “Open Days etc”. MEMBER CLUBS Adelaide West Tennis Club, Airport Tennis Club, Fitzroy Tennis Club, Flinders Park Tennis Club, Henley South Tennis Club, Mellor Park Tennis Club, Orion Tennis Club, Port Adelaide Tennis Club, Rosewater Tennis Club, Seaton Park Tennis Club, Seaton Uniting Tennis Club, Seaside Tennis Club, SMOSH Tennis Club, West Beach Tennis Club, West Lakes Tennis Club and Westside-Post-Tel Tennis Club. 2 of 5 Aug2000 TENNIS PARTICIPATION To provide structure for interclub activities and promote Association events, maximizing playing opportunities. To increase the number of tennis playing members. Assist with development and providing training etc. for administration of clubs. Liaise with Tennis SA and member clubs and local schools to provide opportunities for children to become involved. Juniors Conduct Saturday morning competition:- Summer and Winter seasons Expand competition available:- e.g. develop Friday night competition when suitable facilities become available. Conduct Association junior tournament Work with Tennis SA and other Associations to continue and further develop tennis opportunities; e.g. Tournaments, Interassociation competition and Champion of Champions. Organise suitable Presentation events for competition pennants and tournament trophies Continue to explore changes and/or additions to competitions available;- e.g. less time and more variety. Seniors Conduct Saturday afternoon competition: - summer (Winter conducted by Tennis SA) Develop night competitions when suitable facilities become available. Conduct Association senior tournament Work with Tennis SA and other Associations to continue and further develop tennis opportunities; e.g. Tournaments, Interassociation competition and Champion of Champions. Organise suitable Presentation events for competition pennants and tournament trophies Continue to explore changes and/or additions to competitions available;- e.g. less time and more variety. Coaching Provide quality coaching programs to further develop players to represent the Association and improve club standard of play. 3 of 5 Aug200 FACILITIES Liaise with clubs to ensure that suitable tennis courts are provided. Investigate and endeavor to develop a regional tennis complex with 18 or more courts and suitable clubroom facilities. Further develop new competitions and tournaments when new facilities are established. ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT Administration Regularly review constitution and revise to reflect changing needs of the Association. Annually review rules. Administer the Association in an efficient and effective manner, providing direction, leadership and advice to member clubs. Enforce constitution and rules of match play. Ensure sufficient and timely communication with member clubs. Committees Encourage club members with appropriate expertise to join Association committees. Provide opportunities for committee and club members to gain access to training and skill development. Finance Ensure that Associations finances are viable. Prepare and adopt a yearly budget.
