MAK VARSITY AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING STUDENTS, STAFF
AND PUBLIC
The Award is for exceptional achievement by public personalities and
Organisations, staff or students.
Any outstanding Organization / personality and current member of staff or current
student at Makerere University may be nominated for the Annual Mak Varsity
Awards with the broad criteria for the award set out below.
Criteria for the Award





Exceptional achievement in any arena;
Notable Endeavour which has made a difference to the University;
A substantive contribution which has enhanced the reputation of the
University.
Activity which has had a noticeably positive impact for students, staff or the
local community;
An individual achievement or sustained achievement over a period of time.
Examples of exceptional achievement by staff include sporting success, leadership
of a community project, and exceptional service as a school governor, innovation
in service delivery, notable curricular innovation or significant research impact of
some kind.
Student exceptional achievement could include contributions to Hall or SCR,
sporting club, student society, other Students' Union activities or representation,
volunteering in the community, as a student ambassador, student caller, fundraising
through, for example, Carnival, or some other activity within a College Level.
Note though these are just examples and not intended to limit the grounds on
which someone might be proposed for an award.

These are premier university awards dedicated to rewarding, show casing talent
and committed to pursuing the development and growth of personalities
Vision
To be the leading bench mark for creativity, motivational and Inspirational source
in the University sector through nurturing and empowering Varsity outperforming
figures to achieve their ideas as we act as opt for this noble cause
Objective
The Varsity awards are a mechanism that recognizes those in the influential
positions in the country who have attributed to the Varsity sector.
What makes the Mak Varsity Awards the most compelling event?

Community Focused, fun, family oriented and Friendly.
Best Organized Management Structure
While Mak Varsity Awards obviously has its objectives as stipulated above,
the event is specially designed to present a unique and extensive mileage in
product marketing and sales promotion to the partners
Nomination Criteria
 Publishing categories. This will be done through our Social Media network
platforms, i.e. (Face book, Websites, and electronic Prints i.e. News Papers)
 Nominating of Candidates through email .This will be undertaken through a
procedure of (Name/Contact/Category and profile)
 Review of Application forms and selection of Nominees by the Awards
technical team
 Prestige Nomination Night; Here we shall be unveiling and announcing of
the Final nominees in their respective categories

Voting Criteria/Platforms
 Publishing of the final official nominees respectively of their categories
 SMS platform. This will be through a procedure that will be recommended
by the varsity awards team before and immediately on the nomination night
official after unveiling the list of nominees.
 Technical team. The technical team will consist of a panel of 5 members.




1 person from the sponsor(Varies with different categories respectively)
2 person from the Awards team
1 person from the University management
1 person from the Official Awards Partner
