BROOK PARK RECREATION

YOUTH BASKETBALL
INFORMATION SHEET
REGISTRATIONS HELD OCTOBER 1st – OCTOBER 31ST
Pee Wee Basketball
Boys and Girls (ages 3-4) will be taught basic, large motor skills related to
the game of basketball. Emphasis is on participation and socializing with
others. Sessions will be held on Saturday mornings beginning EarlyJanuary in the Community Room of the Recreation Center.
Clinic Basketball
Boys and Girls (ages 5-6) will be taught the fundamentals of basketball.
Emphasis is on participating and playing as a team. Instructional sessions
will be held Saturday mornings beginning Early-January in the Mini Gym
of the Recreation Center.
Boys & Girls Rookie
Boys and Girls (grades 1-2) will begin playing regulation games.
The basket will be set at 9 feet. Practices will be held either on Thursdays
or Fridays. Games will be played Saturdays afternoons beginning EarlyJanuary in the Mini Gym of the Recreation Center.
Boys City
Boys (grades 3-4) will be playing traditional basketball. Games will be held
Saturday afternoons beginning Early-January in the Main Gym of the
Recreation Center.
Girls City
Girls (grades 3-4) will be playing traditional basketball. Games will be held
Saturday afternoons beginning Early-January in the Main Gym of the
Recreation Center.
Boys Tri-City
Boys (grades 5-6) will be playing traditional basketball versus teams from
Brook Park, Berea, Middleburg Hts, Olmsted Falls and Columbia Station.
Games will be played on Saturday or Sunday afternoons or evenings
beginning Early-January. Some Travel is involved.
Girls Tri-City
Girls (grades 5-6) will be playing traditional basketball versus teams from
Brook Park, Berea , Middleburg Hts and Columbia Station. Games will be
played on Saturday or Sunday afternoons or evenings beginning EarlyJanuary. Some Travel is involved.
Boys West Suburban
Boys (grades 7-9) will be playing traditional basketball versus teams from
Brook Park, Berea , Middleburg Hts. ,Rocky River, Olmsted Falls, and
Fairview . Games will be played on Saturdays or Sundays afternoons or
evenings beginning Early-January. Some Travel is involved.
Girls West Suburban
Girls (grades 7-9) will be playing traditional basketball versus teams from
Brook Park, Berea , Middleburg Hts. and Rocky River. Games will be
played on Saturdays or Sundays afternoons or evenings beginning EarlyJanuary. Some Travel is involved.
*New Players to each league must attend a mandatory skills evaluation on November 10th*
Players will be notified what team they will be on in Mid-November
Players who participate in the Brook Park basketball program and another basketball program
(School or CYO) in the same season, may be in violation of eligibility rules for the latter program.
The Recreation Department provides all equipment, game balls, scorers, referees, & court time.
