Venue: “WILLANDRA CROSS COUNTRY COURSE.” Cambewarra.
Location. Brown’s Mountain Rd. Cambewarra. Exit the Princes Highway at
the northern end of the Shoalhaven River Bridge. Turn west into Illaroo
Road. The course is approximately 10km. from the bridge. Follow signs.
There is a Bus Parking Bay at the course for all teams travelling by coach.

The Primary events will be conducted prior to the Secondary events.

The Secondary Carnival will commence at 11.30 am. Concluding at approx. 2.20 pm.
2016 PRIMARY CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL Friday 3rd June 2016
Information for Managers
Rules: regarding the conduct of the carnival are those that apply to the State Carnival. (State
Handbook: 5.6)
Uniform: All runners must compete in their District PSSA colours.
* Age Runners. A maximum of 5 runners from each Primary District will be permitted to
run. Reserve runners will only run if they replace one of their top 5 team members.
* 13 Years Division: As per the new guidelines from the NSW PSSA, the 13 years
event will not be conducted as a separate event this year. 13 Years competitors
will now need to compete in a combined 12/13 Years division. Only the top 6
runners in this combined division will go through to the NSW PSSA State
Carnival. There is no 13 Year division in 2016 at any level.
* Additional Runners: Will still be considered in an event upon receipt of an application
from the Team Manager stating reasons for inclusion prior to carnival day.
Responsibility: The behaviour of competitors and spectators from each District will be
the responsibility of the District Managers. Any disputes/protests should first be
directed to team managers and then on to carnival officials.
Time: Please ensure a prompt response when competitors are called to the marshalling
area. Time will be critical.
Course: The Willandra Course will be clearly marked with white and red flags. The
surface is grass. Competitors will find some sections of the course very challenging
with several short but steep inclines. For spectators, the parking/viewing area offers
outstanding views of the course. Runners remain in view for 75% of the race.
Nomination Forms: Will be required no later than Wednesday 18th May 2016. Please

State Carnival: Competitors who achieve a 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - 5th - 6th place at the
Regional Carnival in 8/9 yrs. - 10 yrs. - 11yrs. and 12/13 yrs. divisions will be
required to represent the South Coast at the State Carnival at Eastern Creek Raceway
on Friday 22ndth July 2016 (Week 1 - Term 3). If runners from any District qualify,
but won’t be available for State, it is imperative that Managers notify recorders on the
day, or contact the Sports Co-ordination Officer ASAP.
Cost: There is NO entry fee for this event in 2016 due to funding received by SCSSA.

Canteen: The canteen will as usual cater for all competitors and spectators from
7.30am until the completion of the carnival at 2:30 pm.
Hoodies: Should be purchased for competitors only and will be available for sale after the
first event has commenced.
Cost $50 - limited stock, cash, eftpos or cheque. No pre-orders, no post-orders.
A one-off order is placed approximately 3 months prior to the event, so no orders can
be placed after the event if hoodies sell out. Please arrive early or organise for a
parent from your school to line up if you’re might arrive later.
