Culminating Activity Option: Simple story books
IMPORTANT NOTE: While students are permitted to look use technology and/or dictionaries to look up an
individual word or phrase, the purpose of the activity is to ASSESS what YOU KNOW!
Use of a TRANSLATING WEBSITE WILL RESULT IN A ZERO
(Example: unknown verb tenses (past tense conjugations), more than one or two unfamiliar words, phrases,
verbs)
1. 10- 15 conjugated verbs from the chapter (1 point for verb, 1 point for correct conjugation up to 20 points)
including:
 Ser (soy, eres, es, somos, son
 Tener (tengo, tienes, tiene, tenemos, tienen)
 Gustar (me gusta, te gusta, le gusta, nos gusta, les gusta_
 Estar plus emotion word (Está triste /Está content )
 Conjugated AR verbs (See list!)
***Optional: Conjugated –ER/-IR verbs
2. Illustrations/graphics 10 minimum
3. Presentations (10 points---prepared/speak clearly/Spanish accent)
4. Groups make good use of their time and are focused on project completion rather than socializing.

Timeline:
Day 1 _________ View sample stories/Create one as a class
Day 2 _________Decide upon character and theme begin verb choice (Thursday and Friday)
Day 3 _________ Prepare/Submit basic outline including: characters, verbs, addlt. vocabulary
Day 4 _________ Begin assembling and illustrating book using iPad
Day 5 _________ Finish /Submit storybooks /Presentations begin!
Scoring: (Any student completing the assignment well by day 4 will receive bonus points)
