Week 1: TLW match mother/baby animals by upper/lowercase letters (CM p.392 "Mommy Where Are You?").
Week 2: TLW copy and write different types of house vocabulary words using wikki stix (apartment, house,
townhouse, condominium).
Week 3: TLW use wikki stix to write their friends’ names p. 97, and draw and label a picture of one of their
friends.
Week 4: TLW write the letters of the week with a cotton swab p. 139, and practice writing those letters with
different writing materials.

Week 1: TLW spell color words using metal paint buckets with magnetic letters, and write their favorite color
word.
Week 2: TLW use letter stamps to create construction tool vocabulary words.
Week 3: TLW count the letters in the name of a tool and place it on a tool name graph.
Week 4: TLW use the letter of the week to create different objects.

Purpose/Activities:
Week 1: Using shape vocabulary cards, TLW copy the letters in the words and draw the shapes with stencils or
free hand.

Purpose/Activities: “Letter of the Week/Theme-Related Vocabulary”
TLW dig to find the buried letter(s) of the week, and draw pictures of the words that begin with that letter.
Week 1: TLW form the letters of the week in sand and practice letter formation using silly writing tools.
Week 2: TLW locate words on the globe that have the letter(s) of the week within the word and write the word
and highlight the letter.
Week 3: TLW fish for the letters of the week and draw and label an object that begins with that letter.
Week 4: TLW form shadow letters and write the letters they created. TLW use letters to form vocabulary words
from the stories read.

Week 1: TLW fish for action vocabulary words and write them in a sentence.

Week 2: TLW draw and write the week's vocabulary words using magnetic letters or writing utensils. TLW then
write a sentence about what people do in the sunlight or moonlight p. 61.
Week 3: TLW look for vocabulary words within newspapers, magazines or books. TLW cut out letters from
clippings to create vocabulary words.
Week 4: TLW dig up letters within a "letter garden" and build and write vocabulary words with the letters they
discover.
