Introduction
This document demonstrates how Blest Are We, School Edition, supports the Diocese
of Lafayette Religion Curriculum Guidelines. Correlation page references are to the
Blest Are We Student Text (ST) and Teacher Edition (TE or TG).
Blest Are We, School Edition
The Student Text
The Student Text has a 12-page lesson that includes Family Time; a feature that gives
families the opportunity to get connected and share experiences related to the theme
preparing the students for the chapter. On Day 1, Share introduces the chapter theme
with a prayer verse, some personal sharing, and an activity. On Days 2 & 3, Hear &
Believe offers four pages that consist of Scripture stories, passages from the liturgy,
saints’ biographies, and explanations of doctrine. Activities reinforce the concepts. We
Believe box and Faith Words highlight the core teaching of the chapter. Days 4 & 5,
Respond provides five pages that usually consist of a story that tells how one might
react in response to the content of the chapter and related activities. The chapter ends
with a prayer celebration and Chapter Review.
The Teacher Guide
Provides an At-a-Glance Planner to make planning lessons easy. A glance at the
planner shows that each chapter has five lesson plans, each with three teaching steps:
Introduction, Development, and Conclusion. Every lesson has an activity in the Student
Book plus additional activities in the Teacher Edition.
