NPS Rule- A mare that has lost her foal in 2009 may on production of a Vet cert compete in the Broodmare Class. All foals must be at least three weeks old on the day of the show and must accompany their dam into the ring and be led alongside the mare as much as possible. All Stallions and Colts, two years old and over, must hold a Stallion Licence, unless otherwise governed by the individual Breed Society. Handlers of stallions or colts must have attained their fourteenth birthday before 1st January 2009. Handlers of ponies in In Hand Classes aged fourteen years and under must wear correctly secured current British Standard Skull Caps/ Riding Hats. Registered Mountain & Moorland Ponies- All ponies to be registered in the main section of their respective stud books and all registration numbers to be quoted on entry forms. SHBGB (In the North West) - In Hand Points Competition Hunter Breeding Classes and In Hand Sport Horse Classes at this show are included in the SHBGB (In the North West) Points Competition. Points will be awarded to 1 st -4th places in each class. The Champion and Reserve Champions from the Riding Pony Breeding section and the Hunter Pony Breeding section along with the Supreme Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion Mountain & Moorland In Hand Ponies qualify for the Roseberry Northern Breeders In Hand Championship to be held at the NPS Area 4 North of England Show on Monday 31st August 2009. NB The champions and reserve champions will qualify. Qualifiers do not have to be members of the NPS. CHAPS(UK) rule: No spurs are allowed when ridden by a junior rider OR by any rider in the pony sections (non native not exc 153 cms, Native, Cob, Traditional not exc 148cms). 4 NPS Silver Medal Championship Conditions. These Championships are judged under the rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded where the owner of the Champion Pony is a member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the handlers possession on entering the ring and must be produced in the ring. If the owner of the champion pony is not a member or the owners membership card cannot be produced in the ring, the rosette may be awarded to the reserve champion provided the owner is a member of the NPS and the membership card is produced in the ring. If the champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette. But the qualification card goes to the reserve champion pony provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and qualification can be awarded no lower than first reserve. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 5th -7th August 2009 provided they send to the NPS Secretariat the relevant entry fee and qualification card. Classes 37-53 are judged under the rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the NPS riding pony stud book, register or appendix, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or registered in the main body of their respective mountain and moorland stud books. Part breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS stud book, register or appendix. HOYS Mountain & Moorland Qualifiers- Where more than 20 entrants are forward in each class, the judges may split the class according to the circumstances on the day. Each section must be marked and the top five ponies with the highest marks should go forward to a final judging. The marks are not to be displayed at this point and no rosettes awarded. For the final judging the top ponies should be invited back into the ring and lined up in any order. No further show will be given. The judges should then refer to their original marks. In the case of equality the pony with the highest show, freedom and action mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point then the judges decision will be final. Ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant Breed Societies. Ponies that qualify for the Championship at HOYS 2009 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be sent at the time of entry to HOYS.
