RE:
WINTER STATE ACADEMIC TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
DUE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2016
The NIAA will once again recognize a state academic team champion per classification in each Winter sport and also all
varsity student-athletes who achieved a non-weighted 4.0 GPA during the first semester 2015-2016. The state academic
team championship awards and the all-state academic team individual certificates are sponsored by Ingrahams.
Team champions will be awarded a special trophy during the final game/day at their respective state tournaments.
Individuals earning status on the All-State Academic will receive a certificate.
The deadline for filing the winter team academic championship form with the NIAA office is Friday, February 5, 2016. Any
form submitted after this deadline will be eliminated from team championship consideration and will not receive points in the
NIAA Award of Excellence program.
As a reminder, a form must be submitted in order to have 4.0 students recognized. Please help the NIAA recognize All-State
Academic Team members by putting an asterisk by 4.0 students.
The NIAA and Ingraham’s are proud to recognize the many outstanding student-athletes for their efforts both in and out of
the classroom. Once again, the academic team GPA’s count equally to the athletic and citizenship components of the NIAA
award.
Rules and guidelines for the winter academic championship can be found on the following two pages. As another reminder,
schools may use their own form, provided the form is similar in setup to the one included and has a signature from both the
principal and head coach. Any form submitted without the appropriate information will be excluded from team championship
consideration. This form can also be e-mailed to you.
Please feel free to call Felicia at the NIAA office with any questions, comments or concerns.
