Ecosystem Projects Directions: Chose one project from each column. You will be completing the two projects over the course of our unit. Rubrics will be handed out shortly to let you know how I will be grading the projects. The 2 projects will be due on different dates. You choose which project you want to do first and so on. The first one will be due on February 26th. The second will be due on March 12th. You only have to do two of the projects in total, not all in the two columns. Column 1 Fill out an umbrella tella on a specific ecosystem. Divide a shoe box into 2 sections with cardboard separating the 2. Decorate the shoe box to look like 2 different ecosystems. (ex. Magazine pictures of animals, dirt, paint the sides, etc) Create a poster to convince someone to travel to a certain ecosystem. Make sure to put pictures and write some persuasive statements as to why someone would want to travel there. Column 2 Pretend you are a predator or prey. Write a persuasive letter to the other saying why you need to eat them or why you shouldn’t be eaten. Talk about food chains. (At least 1 ½ pages written or 1 page typed) Make a collage of biotic factors on one side and abiotic factors on the other in an ecosystem. (ex. Water and clouds on one side and animals/plants on the other.) Include at least 10 of each kind. Make a rap with all of the ecosystems included and at least one important fact about each. Make a board game to review our study of ecosystems (include things on predator/prey, food chain, human impact on the environment, biomes, and how different factors affect the habitat). REMEMBER: YOU’RE ONLY DOING TWO OF THESE TOTAL, ONE FROM EACH COLUMN. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHICH ONE YOU DECIDE TO DO FIRST. Ecosystem Projects Directions: Chose one project from each column.
