ACTA AVIONICA AT THE FACULTY OF AERONAUTICS
Josef Blažek - František Olejník
The text contains brief instructions for authors on preparing contributions for publication in the scientific review issued
by the Faculty of Aeronautics Technical university of Košice. The paragraphs provide information on the formal requirements such
as page outline, formatting, number of fonts required for titles, subtitles, and for the text, as well as the rules of adding illustrations
and diagrams (the entire text, both the one made so far and that of to be continued, follow a standardized pattern applicable for
contributions).
K e y w o r d s. preparing a document, formal outline of a page, sort of fonts and style, text composition, illustrations and
figures
1 INTRODUCTION
The outline applicable to all the
contributions to be submitted follows a "camera
ready" form (in its final finish for the press)
mandatory for all authors. After general
information, the principal rules of writing are
gradually introduced. The titles are followed by the
name(s) of author(s), annotations and keywords in
succession. The next part is offering instructions
for document arrangement, copying texts,
preparing titles, subtitles plus some advices on
providing illustrations and other information.
Everything explained in the instructions is written
in accordance with the requirements contained in
the main part of the text, i.e. requirements on a
text submitted for publication.
or the like. The length of the contribution is
limited to 8 and minimum of 2 pages. The number
of pages is to be even and the size of the page
should be 19x26.

2 GENERAL INFORMATION

The authors are expected to submit the
manuscript, one more copy of the text along with a
copy on a diskette for each contribution. Copies
are required to be made on laser printer on white
paper. The diskette copy is to be written in Word
97 word processor. The text should follow a twocolumn outline, 7.25 cm wide each with a 5 mm
spacing in between. The text and the illustration
must not exceed the width of 15 cm. Line spacing
should be set to 1 and the TIMES NEW ROMAN
font, simple (not bold type) of a size 10b.
Highlighting in the text is required in italics. Titles
and subtitles are to be written in bold type.

NAME(S) OF THE AUTHOR(S) - state full
names less Initial letters and titles (10b).
ANNOTATION - brief description of the
contents not exceeding 6 lines (8b).
KEYWORDS - not more than 6 notions
related to the topic (8b).

4 ARRANGEMENT OF DOCUMENTS
4.1 Page outline
Title of the paper, name(s) of the
author(s), annotation and the keywords are given
at the beginning. All pages should feature 3cm
upper margin and a 2.5 cm margin at the bottom
line. The left margin should also be of 2 cm. The
text is to be written in two columns as noted in
paragraph 2. Illustrations have to be of a column
width (7.25 cm is recommended). Expanding them
throughout two columns could only be allowed in
case of deteriorating reading. The illustrations,
however, must not exceed 15 cm in width and 10
cm in height. The column is then continued all the
page long, regardless of the illustration inserted.
4.2 Title, subtitles and sub-subtitles
Titles (numbered in order of their
occurrence) such as 1 INTRODUCTION, 2
THEOY, 3 EXPERIOMENT, DISCUSSION or
anything of the kind including 5 CONCLUSION
are to be written in capital bold letters of 10 point
size. For subtitles, use commonly available letters bold of 10 point size, starting at the margin. The
title of "REFERENCES" is to be written in letters
of 10 point size - as seen in the pattern. Each title
(subtitle) is set off from the previous part of the
text by two lines (or one) and by one (or no) line
from the text that follows (see this pattern).
Setting off paragraphs from the margin is 0.75 cm.
4.3 Equation
Equations quoted further in the text are to
be numbered in round brackets (1),(2), etc. at the
end of each line or a bit below the line level. The
size of the letters in equations should roughly be of
the same size (10 points) as those used in the main
text. Decimal numbers should be set off using
periods, e.g. 3.14 or 12.56 and (if need be) as for
example in 4.25x 10 -. Avoid using extremely
long expressions.
the number is not added a period, e.g. Diagram 1
or Diagram 2 or Diagram 1 and 2m see Fig, 2 or
Figure 1 and Figure 2. Units or measurements
should be presented in parenthesis, like: H (A/m).
Avoid using brackets (such as H A/m)! Tables
can be optional for grids. Take advantage of
diagrams and illustrations made only in a single
column. The diagrams and illustrations should use
letters of the same size as those used in the text (10
points size), or smaller ones (9b). Comment are
given over the diagram and under the illustrations.
Comment text is given in blocks, with the last line
centered. Scanned or computer-generated
illustrations are also acceptable.
4.5 References
References are to be documented in their
full and exact wording and in line with the
standards applicable to other expert journals. In the
text, sources can be quoted in squared brackets
such as 1, 2-5, with an ordered list available in the
end of the paper, following an alphabetical order
of their occurrence. Letters of 9 point size are to be
used.
5 CONCLUSION
I hope, that the instruction provided as
above will assist the authors in their developing
papers featuring "camera ready" finish and ensure
unity of preparing articles for publishing in the
Faculty of Aeronautics Review. Further question
