Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme in Government Logistics Department
The 2013 Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme has been launched. The Programme provides internship
placement opportunities for students who are permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)
and are currently enrolled in full-time courses of post-secondary institutions locally or overseas. The following internship
placement opportunities in Government Logistics Department are now available for application:

Summer Intern (Management)
No. of vacancy :

Duration :
About 1.5 months, tentatively starting from July 2013
Entry requirements :
Applicants should be:
(a) Permanent residents of HKSAR; and
(b) Full-time students who will be studying Year 2 or Year 3 of the Higher Diploma
in Transport and Logistics Studies offered by any post-secondary institutions, or
equivalent, in the 2013/14 academic year.
Duties :
(a) To assist in conducting market research;
(b) To establish a database on approved Environment-friendly vehicles;
(c) To assist in checking the accuracy and consistency of vehicle information;
(d) To organize and verify information on departmental transport resources to
facilitate the vetting of bids from departments;
(e) To file the vetting results for General Purpose Vehicles and Specialised Vehicles
for respective departments; and
(f) To assist in preparing the related documents for vehicle procurement.

(c) Preferably with experience in conducting market research and sound knowledge in
the use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis
(a) To review existing market information for printing and purchases of goods/services
on printing works; and
(b) To conduct research on the use of recycled paper for printing and purchases of
goods/services on printing works, including research design, data collection and
analysis, and evaluation of the results.

General Notes :
Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. They are normally
required to work 44 hours per week, inclusive of meal breaks. Unless otherwise
provided, rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, paid leave, sickness days and
sickness allowance, where appropriate, are generally in line with the provisions of the
Employment Ordinance (Cap.57). Summer Interns are subject to the Mandatory
Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

(a) Non-civil service vacancies are not posts on the civil service establishment.

their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required
entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and

(a) Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions or in non-local
post-secondary institutions should complete the Standard Application Form and send it
together with a copy of the documentary proof on student identity and the transcripts of
studies in the post-secondary course required for the intern vacancy to the Enquiry
Address above on or before the closing date (according to postmark). The job title
concerned should be clearly marked in the application form.
(b) Candidates who wish to be considered for more than one post of the internship
programme should submit separate application for each of the posts.
(c) Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
(d) Candidates selected for interview will normally be invited to attend an interview in
about two to three weeks from the closing date. If they do not receive an invitation by
then, they may assume that their applications are not successful.
