Men’s Ultimate Constitution Written: April 11, 2001 Revised: February 8, 2007 I. The operation of the organization shall be known at the College of William and Mary, under the name of The Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Club (UFC) II. PURPOSE: The Men’s UFC’s purpose is to promote the advancement of all disc sports, but especially the game of Ultimate Frisbee. Ultimate is growing at a phenomenal pace around the country. The team will play in as many tournaments all around the country whenever possible. It is our goal to remain competitive, but also keep the Spirit of the Game alive as is tradition at William and Mary since the team’s conception over 20 years ago. The team will also stay members of the Ultimate Players Association (UPA) out of Colorado Springs, CO which is the overseeing body of Ultimate in the United States for clubs and colleges. III. MEMBERSHIP: Membership in the UFC is open to all students, Undergraduate and Graduate at William and Mary that have not competed in college ultimate for more than five years. IV. MEETINGS AND DUES Meetings will be held in the form of practice, at least twice a week all year round regardless of rain, cold, or injury. Dues will be raised either once a year or once a semester at the discretion of the officers. Dues will be kept as low as possible, but to allow for entry into tournaments throughout the year. V. EXECUTIVE BOARD Captain and Co-Captain – on field coach and leader, spokesman for team at tournaments President – all other roles including treasurer, administrative organizer, leader, publicity, and scheduling Secretary – assistant to the President in order to learn the responsibilities of the office with the intention of being the future replacement for the current officer. The Secretary position will only be filled when the current President is completing his final year in office. VI. ELECTIONS Election of officers will be done at the end of the Spring season. They will be nominated from the players, including seniors, at a practice or team meeting. All players, including seniors, will vote during the same practice or meeting. Resignation – the resignation of an officer shall force the team to nominated and vote for a new officer Impeachment – Impeachment may take place with only a ¾ vote of the team.
