You may be surprised on the revenue that a car donation program will bring to your Komen Affiliate by just
getting the word out that your Komen Affiliate now accepts Car Donations. This may be an opportunity for a
Komen Intern to market and promote your program by visiting Car Dealership and Car Repair Shops in our
Komen coverage area. You will no doubt see the efforts in revenue generated. If you have questions, give Ron

Local website promoting the Vehicle Donation Program. We will provide a car donation banner and a car donation
page for your website. We highly recommend you place the Car Program at a visible location. The Car Donation page
contains a link to the online donation form (Extremely critical as Melwood receives over 40% of our donations online).
Ensure staff members are aware of the program and with most telephone systems, the call can be transferred directly
into 1-855-566-3622 or pass the number onto the caller.
If you have the room, place a Car Donation sign in front of your building where people driving past your complex will
notice. The sign in front of our complex continues to attract car donors.
Continuously place articles, or at a minimum the car donation banner, in your monthly e-newsletters.
Continually use social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, to make people aware of your Komen Car Donation
Program.
Ask a Komen sponsor to place the Car Donation Banner and the hyper link to www.komen-car.org. on their website.
You may be surprised how many of your sponsors or your supports are willing to do this for you.
Create an e-mail blast to your present e-mail listing advising people to donate.
Be creative, make flyers and distribute at various Komen events, especially your Komen Race.

auto dealership and auto repair facilities to refer individual not wishing to repair their vehicle to donate to Susan G.
Komen.
Use local newspapers to place ads (normally fee associated)
Use local radio advertisement – attempt to obtain free public service announcement (PSA’s), normally 30 second radio
spots are most effective
Use local television (can be expensive for some markets, however normally is the most effective)
