WHAT MY HORSES HAVE HELPED ME UNDERSTAND ABOUT MY LORD

FAITH BUILDS CHAMPIONS

Hebrews 11:1—FAITH is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. NIV

Ephesians 2:8—For it is by GRACE you have been saved through FAITH— and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God—NOT by works so that no one can boast. NIV

Webster’s Dictionary defines FAITH as confidence in or dependence on a person, statement, or thing as trustworthy. Belief in God or in the scriptures or other religious writings.

To compete successfully in barrel racing a person must have complete faith in their horse. When you head up that ally way you must know without a doubt that horse is going to go into that arena, take over the situation and work to the greatest of their ability. You need to do what I call “go in on the know”.

That is the way I approach my faith in God. I “go with the know”. I know through faith that while I am on this earth that God is with me and in me. I know through faith that when my life here is ended I will go to be with the

Lord. It is through faith that I believe the promises (the word) of God. I is through faith that I believe in God’s grace (his unearned, unmerited love and forgiveness). It is through that same faith I believe that God is with me at all times (“For I will never leave you or forsake you” Joshua 1:5).

Faith for most people takes work. It does not happen overnight for most of us. Just as it may take time spent with your horse to get to the point where you have faith that your horse will work in just about any situation it will take time spent with God to be assured of his love and grace in any situation. Once you have faith in your horse you feel like you can outrun the world. That is what builds a world’s champion. Once you develop faith in God you know you can face anything the world may throw at you.

You will be a champion in God’s eyes!
