Poznan International Fair, company Trehus Design, Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts and
University of Life Sciences in Poznan invite for the special event - Live Furniture Factory
during DREMA FURNICA 2013 fair.
Live Furniture Factory has permanently inscribed in the landscape of the most important trade
fair for wood processing and furniture production in Poland. This year, as part of the event
will be run full-range furniture which will produce two types of desks and office containers.
Production will be basedon innovative and eco-friendly products which are DendroLight®
panels. The production line will be equipped with a full range of machinery and equipment to
ensure the processing of material from nesting of panels to packaging the finished product.
Office sets called ANETA and IZA, consisting of desks and containers were designed by
second-year students at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in
Gdansk Mrs. Aneta Eron and Mrs. Isabella Tkaczyk, under the guidance of prof. Halina
Kościukiewicz. Technological development was prepared by the students of the Department
of Furniture in Poznan University of Life Sciences under the aegis of prof. Jerzy
Smardzewski. Students of both universities together will promote the project on the spot in
Poznan, during the Fair DREMA FURNICA 2013.
Live Furniture Factory will present a flexible production using innovative materials and
modern technology. Produced furniture will consist of 90 percent of DendroLight® panels
that can be used in virtually any production concept of the wood, furniture and construction.
Show provides, inter alia presentation of workpieces on CNC machines and their coating and
drying. DendroLight ® panels will be supplied by the exclusive distributor of the brand in
Poland, the company Trehus Design.
DendroLight® panels, unlike other wood-based panels are made of natural wood profiles and
keep all the features of solid wood: strength, thermal, sound insulation, the ability to maintain
reliable fasteners, a wide variety of finishes edges and flat surfaces, and ecology.
Unique panels are characterized by reduced weight compared to the weight of solid wood at
40%, and compared to the HDF - 60%. DendroLight® panels reach low density - 250kg/m³,
minimize solid wood internal tensions and respond to its all feature at the same time.
DendroLight® panels can be used in the production process without the need for replacement
or retrofitting of machinery and the processing is done by using common tools and traditional
machines. These panels can significantly shorten the manufacturing process and reduce the
amount of machining operations. Thus, they are a natural product, free from chemical
contaminants and have a positive effect on the life of tools.
The basis for all DendroLigh® panels and stand-alone product is unique middle layer,
constructed of hollow spruce, pine and aspen in the form of a two-sided comb. In the finished
panel thin profile ribs are arranged side by side at an angle of +/- 45 degrees to the surface. As
a result, the material has a higher strength, which is the same in all directions. In the glueing
process, using PVAc glue (D3/D4) or EPI the total amount of glue in the material does not
exceed 4%. Therefore, the DendroLight® middle layer is a high quality natural product and
therefore provides environmental responsibility.
The middle layer can be bonded with all available products such as laminate and HPL, MDF,
HDF, veneers, conglomerates and natural stone.
During Live Furniture Factory for the production of furniture panels will also be used
DendroLight® 3 layer panels. In their case, the middle layer is coated on both sides with
primers plywood, MDF or HDF. DendroLight® 3 layer panel is a great solution for the
construction of furniture, doors, partition walls and interior decoration items in the broad
sense (including stairs, using the middle layer with ribs). The panel can be bonded with all
kinds of veneers enabling countless decorative options.
The main advantages of DendroLight® panels:
reduced weight (250-300 kg/m³ for the middle layer, 360-477 kg/m³, the three-layer panels);
swelling low - less than 0.5%, depending on the thickness and type of substrate;
high stiffness (low modulus of elasticity, 25mm 2290 N/mm ², 60 mm 1240 N/mm²);
high stability and uniform surface;
lack of internal tensions;
strong internal bonds 0.44 N/mm²;
good using fasteners (760-950 N/mm² for the surface, 530 N/mm² for the sides);
low content of the adhesive (3 - 4%);
reduce the cost of logistics and warehousing;
easy to work with using traditional tools and machinery;
environmentally friendly materials.
