Design a Math crossword puzzle
Mathematical puzzles make up an integral part of recreational mathematics. They have specific
rules as do multiplayer games, but they do not usually involve competition between two or more
players. Instead, to solve such a puzzle, the solver must find a solution that satisfies the given
conditions. Mathematical puzzles require mathematics to solve them. Create your own (at least

My Math Dictionary
Guidance for making a Maths Dictionary:
1) Decide which vocabulary to include in the dictionary.
2) Words which have more than one meaning e.g. square (the shape) and square (multiply a
number by itself) should be taken.
3) The dictionary can include vocabulary related to fraction, measure, symmetry, perimeter,
angles, number system, etc.
4) Size of the dictionary should be 15cm by 10 cm.

Tan grams
A tan gram is an ancient Chinese puzzle consisting of 7 geometric shapes.
Make a tan gram kit and using that kit make 5 pictures in your scrap book.
Try to make the shapes as imaginative and the pictures as colourful as possible.
Use innovative material for the pictures.
The cover page of the scrap book should be designed using tan gram concept.

Waste management
1. Find out the fate of garbage collected from your house. Think on these
lines:


and write the information in 200 words ,also click pictures and paste
them in a scrap file.
2. Prepare a poster on “Techniques of proper waste disposal.”.
3. Conduct an interview with the garbage collector of your locality and
prepare a questionnaire of relevant questions asked and answers
received(atleast 5 questions).

The students will acquire the knowledge about waste management
techniques, role and importance of various people involved.
Types of waste:Biodegradable and non biodegradable
1.Make a list of articles you see around you .Segregate them as
biodegradable and non biodegradable waste(at least 10 each)
2. Prepare any one article using only the waste present in your house(based
on some scientific idea).
3.Prepare a report on the “ Problem of garbage disposal”
Paste pictures relevant to the topic. Also paste newspaper articles to
enhance your report with proper evidence.
The students will become aware about different types of waste and
problems associated with waste disposal.
