Box 266 Moorestown, New Jersey 08057 www.mysha.org MYSHA Coach’s Responsibilities Volunteers for Coaches are solicited by E-Mail prior to each Season’s Registration Drive and there are Coach Volunteer Sign-Up sheets at Registration. During the final 2 weeks of Registration, MYSHA Division Managers will assign Coaches to Teams and will contact each Coach to confirm availability to Coach, to indicate the date/time of the Coach’s Meeting & Player Draft, and to review the Coach’s responsibilities at the Coach’s Meeting & Player Draft. A Coach’s Meeting and Player Draft will be conducted on the Monday or Tuesday following the final Saturday Registration session. All coaches are expected to attend. Each Coach should bring the Name and Contact information for his/her Assistant Coach(s). The Mighty Mite, Bantam and Cadet Division Managers will conduct a Player Draft as described in the MYSHA Season Timeline document. [The Half Pint Division Manager will have already assigned the Half Pint Teams and Coaches.] At conclusion of the Player Draft, each Coach will have a stack of Registration forms for the players on his/her Team. the Division Manager and Coaches will select Team names from the list of available Team names. The Division Manager will provide a (blank) Team Roster and Jersey Order Form for each Coach to fill out. Information includes Team Name, Coach’s Contact Info, Roster, Player Jersey numbers, player Jersey Sizes. Each Coach is to turn in the Team Roster and Jersey Order Form and the stack of Registration forms to the Division Manager. There will be a Pre-season Practice Slots sign-up form and a Season Practice Slots sign-up form; coaches are to sign-up for a fixed practice slot (same day same time each week) for pre-season, and (optionally) a fixed practice slot for the season. During the remainder of the week of the Player Draft, contact each family to let them know that their child is assigned to your team, the practice times, and briefly discuss your coaching philosophy and your expectations of the players and parents. Remind them to frequently check the MYSHA Web Page www.mysha.org for Rosters, Standings, Schedules and Announcements. Pick-up your Team Equipment Bag from the Equipment Coordinator, identified in the Staff page of the Web Page. The Coach of each team will be issued an Equipment Bag with Goalie Equipment, including a Goalie Stick. That coach is completely responsible for that equipment during the season, and is expected to turn same in at the end of the season. Coaches will be responsible for replacing any lost or damaged equipment. The equipment bag will also contain your team's supply of balls (expendable) for this season; no additional balls will be available. One waterbottle (expendable) for each player will also be included in your equipment; they are to be passed out to the players for them to keep. At the end of the Season please remember to turn-in your team’s Equipment bag to the Equipment Coordinator. Conscript a "Team Mom" to handle team communications for you. Each Team will be assigned a day/evening to provide parents to man the Concession Stand; your Team Mom can coordinate this. The concession stand’s inventory and pricing has been simplified to make it easier on parents. EVERY team is expected to fill their team’s concession slots. This is a very minimal demand. Remember that MYSHA supports a "FAIR PLAY" Policy and that in volunteering to Coach a MYSHA Team that you are agreeing to 100% abide by this Policy!
