α) Δομή του φλοιού και του ανώτερου μανδύα (κυρίως τομογραφικές μελέτες), β) Μελέτη της
ενεργού παραμόρφωσης του φλοιού, γ) Σεισμοτεκτονική μελέτη (ζώνες διάρρηξης, ενεργά ρήγματα,
κλπ.) και σεισμική επικινδυνότητα του ευρύτερου Ελληνικού χώρου, δ) Χρονικά εξαρτώμενη
σεισμικότητα με εφαρμογή του Γενικευμένου Χρονικά Εξαρτημένου Μοντέλου-Πρόγνωση σεισμών
με βάση πιθανολογικά μοντέλα σεισμικότητας, ε) Μελέτη σεισμικών ακολουθιών, στ) Απόσβεση
σεισμικών κυμάτων με τη χρήση μακροσεισμικών δεδομένων και δεδομένων ισχυρής σεισμικής
κίνησης, ζ) Χρήση γεωφυσικών τεχνικών (σεισμικών, μαγνητικών, κλπ.) για τη μελέτη των
επιφανειακών στρωμάτων της Γης, κυρίως για γεωτεχνικούς σκοπούς.
Μέλος πολλών Ελληνικών και διεθνών γεωφυσικών συλλόγων. Κριτής σε διεθνή και Ελληνικά
περιοδικά και συνεργαζόμενος συντάκτης (Ass. Editor) του J. οf Balkan Geophysical Society και
Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences. Κριτής της ΓΓΕΤ, του European Science Foundation και της
Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Μέλος της Επιστημονικής Επιτροπής WEGENER της IUGG. Υπότροφος του
ΙΚΥ για μεταπτυχιακές και μεταδιδακτορικές σπουδές. 1ο Βραβείο καλύτερης εργασίας νέου
επιστήμονα Ελληνικής Γεωλογικής Εταιρείας στο 8ο Συνέδριο της Ε.Γ.Ε. Βραβείο καλύτερου κριτή

Εμπειρία πεδίου και οργάνων
Συμμετοχή σε πολλά πειράματα υπαίθρου σε σεισμοτεκτονικές μελέτες, μελέτες σεισμικών
ακολουθιών, εφαρμοσμένης γεωφυσικής (σεισμικές, μαγνητικές, βαρυτικές, ηλεκτρικές). Συμμετοχή
στη λειτουργία του Σεισμολογικού Δικτύου του Εργαστηρίου Γεωφυσικής του ΑΠΘ από το 1990
μέχρι σήμερα. Υπεύθυνος του δικτύου Επιτ/φων του ΙΤΣΑΚ κατά την περίοδο 1995-1999.
