We are very excited about our new and innovative graduate program which is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise in the areas of Children, Youth and Families, or Community Mental Health. The enclosed admissions packet describes our program and the application process. Complete application guidelines along with our department application, letter of recommendation forms, Field Placement Application, Application Checklist, Title IV-E application form, etc. can be found on our website: www20.csueastbay.edu/class/departments/socialwork/apply.html. Application materials should be mailed directly to CSUEB, Department of Social Work, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd., Hayward, CA 94542. We are currently accepting applications for our full-time MSW program at CSUEB in Hayward in both concentrations: Children, Youth and Families and Community Mental Health. Students enrolled in our two year Hayward campus program complete a total of six quarters of study (fall, winter and spring). In order to apply, you must complete both the university’s online graduate application (www.csumentor.edu) and the department’s application packet. The University’s graduate application, the application fee and one (1) complete set of official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended should be sent directly to the CSUEB Office of Admission and Records, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd., Hayward, CA 94542. Mail your completed department application packet (department application, application checklist, 3 letters of recommendation, personal statement, (1) complete set of official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, resume and field application to CSUEB, Department of Social Work, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd., Hayward, CA 94542. Applicants interested in public child welfare who apply for admission fall 2016 may be eligible for a Tittle IV-E stipend. Information and an application form for this program is available on our website. Review and evaluation of MSW applications will begin when the application period closes on January 15, 2016. Applications must arrive on campus by the stated deadline or be sent overnight delivery with a postmark no later than January 15, 2016. As a courtesy, we do our best to send out “confirmations of receipt” for application packets that arrive prior to the University closure for Winter Break. If your application will arrive on campus after the closure, we will be unable to verify its receipt and suggest that you send it with some sort of delivery confirmation option with your chosen mail carrier. Once all the applications are reviewed and the cohort selected, letters indicating the department’s decision will be mailed to you. A mandatory orientation for those admitted will be conducted prior to the beginning of the fall quarter; usually one week before classes start.
