Economics Undergraduate Board (EUB)
Application for 2013-2014
The Economics Undergraduate Board (EUB) serves as a liaison between the undergraduate
student body and the Economics Department faculty and staff. We are currently seeking
Economics Majors who plan to graduate no earlier than Winter 2015 who would be
interested in being a part of the Board. If you will be graduating earlier than Winter
2015, we may have a second round for applications open to everyone in late Spring
2013. Membership provides a great opportunity to be involved with the department, get to
know other students and faculty, and provide valuable services to your fellow
undergraduates.
Each member of the EUB is assigned to specific projects, but is also expected to help with
other EUB activities and special events as needed and includes weekly tutoring. Regular

To apply to the 2013-14 EUB, please fill in the following application. Staple the application
together and turn it in to Savery 305 (EUB Mail box), or by email to eub@uw.edu by
Monday March 18th. There will be a short series of 10 minute interviews during the April
1st-April 4th. Accepted applicants will be notified the following week.

1. How did you find out about the EUB?
2. Please explain why you would like to serve on the EUB and which, if any, of the
events above in particular in which you would like to be involved and why.
3. The EUB offers free tutoring in Savery every Monday through Thursday and you
would be responsible for an hour a week tutoring: Econ 200, 201, 300, 301, as well
as any 400 level courses you have taken. Please explain what makes you qualified to
tutor undergraduates in the aforementioned classes.
4. Please tell us something about yourself and your activities at the university and the
Economics Department that demonstrate how you could contribute to the EUB and
the department as a whole (also if you have any particular ideas for the future of the
EUB you may list them here).
A final note: An important aspect of the EUB is the group of seminars we offer each week
as the well as bi-weekly meetings and tutoring hours. While this only amounts to a 10 hour
commitment per month actually on campus, it is still a very important commitment. If you
see any reason why you would not be able to dedicate this time to the EUB please do not
apply. We understand if you have other commitments (like a job or another group) and
that’s fine; we all have jobs and other responsibilities too.
Although it’s not required, attaching a resume is strongly recommended.
