Dr. Burchfield has been funded to study drugs of abuse in pregnancy and in the pharmacology of
resuscitation medications. Over the last 4 years, his interests have moved to clinical trials, where in
the neonatal intensive care unit, Dr. Burchfield and his team have participated in 8 different clinical
trials.
