Canteen this week is a BBQ sausage on a roll, $3.50. If you are able to assist please
see Katherine, she desperately needs more helpers each week.
Active After Schools
Active After Schools will begin this week 3 (20 October)
Monday- equestrian 3-4 at school
Wednesday- paddle boarding at North Haven 3.30-4.30. Please return indemnity form to
school. Remember this activity is the responsibility of the parents to transport to.
School hat
Please make sure your child has a school hat for school otherwise they will have to play
in the shade.
Mathletics and Workbook Fees
There is a $60 fee per student to cover the cost of mathletics, work books etc. Please
pay this amount to Mrs Mac in the office on a Monday, Thursday or Friday. This money
will need to be finalised by 31 October please.Pete the Sheep
The students in K-2 will be completing a unit of work on the picture book Pete the
Sheep. They will be attending a performance at the Glass House on Friday 24 October.
We will leave school at approximately 10am for an 11am performance and return in
time for lunch. We will need assistance with transport. If you are able to help, please
indicate on the note below. Cost of the excursion is $11

Kindy Orientation
Our Kindy orientation program begins this week. We welcome all of our new Kindy
Bindy’s!

Planning for a Catastrophic Fire Warning
1. Our school is listed on the NSW Rural Fire Service as being in a high-risk bush fire area.
2. If the NSW Rural Fire Service declares a Catastrophic Fire Warning, our school will be
closed for the period of that warning. These alerts are usually issued at 4:30pm.
3. If the alert is issued during school time the students will be evacuated to Camden Haven
High School Multi-Purpose centre and parents will be notified.
4. Families will be advised of this closure by:
a) SMS message or phone call.
b) A posting on the school website
Evacuation Procedures due to a Catastrophic Fire Warning
1. All staff have a duty of care to ensure all students have returned home safely after the school has

evacuated. Our first priority is to ensure the systems the school has put into place are effective in
guaranteeing our students' safety.
The decision to evacuate the students will be made by the principal. The following calls are then
made:
a) Selected parents will be notified to help teachers transport students to Camden Haven High
School.
b) SMS message to parents advising them that school is evacuating and to meet the students at
Camden Haven High School.
c) DEC in Port Macquarie 65866900
3. Once this decision is made the following occurs:
a) All classes will go to the Emergency Evacuation Point 2 (south end of the school) with their
school bags and have their names marked off.
b) Principal to collect class bushfire rolls, emergency contact list and First Aid Kit especially
c) Asthma medication.
d) An available staff member to lock all buildings
e) When transport has arrived, students will walk to car accompanied by a teacher.
f) Staff will follow with remaining students.
4. When the bus arrives at Camden Haven High School , phone calls will be made to parents who do not
receive SMS messages.
5. If any students are not collected by their parents, phone calls will be made to emergency contact
persons.

to attend Pete the Sheep performance on Friday 24 October. I understand transport
is by private vehicle. I have included the $11 for the cost of this excursion.
