Subject - New team in place at Crown Leisure Operations
Date – 22 September 2004
Neil Moir, Crown Leisure’s new Managing Director has moved swiftly to reveal his new management team for Crown
Leisure Operations.
Reporting directly to Neil Moir will be, Arthur Wannop, Martin Cookson, Bill Magowan and David Kerr, who between
them have over 125 years experience in the gaming and amusement industry.
Arthur Wannop, previously depot manager at Leeds, will assume the role of Head of Operations (East). Reporting to
Arthur will be Chas Stewart (Washington), John Martin (Nottingham) and David Wren (National Accounts). Arthur will
also take responsibility for Crown Leisure’s Scottish operations run by Foremost Leisure.
Martin Cookson, previously holding the reins at Preston, will assume the role of Head of Operations (West).
Reporting to Martin will be Nigel Hodson (National Accounts), Jim Watson (Stourport), Bryan Johnson (Bristol) and
Sharon White (London).
Bill Magowan’s title will change to Head of Operational Services to reflect a changed focus. Steve Austin (Technical
Training), Avril Birchall (Records) and Doris Hand (Service Control) will continue to report to Bill who will also take
responsibility for co-ordinating the Operation’s machine injection requirements and implementing industry best
practice.
To reflect the importance of growth in this business, David Kerr will report directly to Moir in his role as Director of
National Sales.
Financial Director St John Stott will expand his responsibilities with Joanne Moran the newly appointed Business
Systems Manager and Chris Leak, Security manager both now reporting to him.
Moir commented, “On my first day, I sat with Mike Gemson and we agreed that it was critical to draw a line under any
uncertainty associated with the Crown Leisure Group. This company is here for the long term and I am here to
enable it to grow. It is a testament to the quality of our existing staff that we are in a position to make all of the top
appointments from internal candidates. Crown is a great company with almost 30 years history in this industry. This
puts us in a position to develop and prosper as a company for the next thirty!”
