PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION Synopsis of Projects and Professional Activities My research focuses on adolescent health and social problem-solving skill development, which also integrates into my teaching and service practices. Most notably, I was invited to write a chapter titled “Social Problem-Solving Training in Children and Adolescents” that appears in a book titled Social Problem Solving: Theory, Research, and Training published by the American Psychological Association. I also have recently published a book titled The Social ProblemSolving Inventory for Adolescents: A Manual for Application, Interpretation, and Psychometric Evaluation, which is the synopsis of my research over the past 2 decades. I was invited to coauthor a book for the American Association for Health Education that provides the national health education teacher preparation standards and guidelines used by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, 2001 Guidelines for AAHE/NCATE Review of Initial Level Programs for Health Education Teacher Preparation. In addition to these publications, I have authored or co-authored refereed or invited journal articles that have appeared in journals with national circulations. My professional presentations during the past 18 years have likewise focused on adolescent health, social problem solving, and teacher preparation, including international papers; invited national presentations, papers, and national training sessions; and invited state presentations related to teacher training.
