The Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) is the foremost management & IT school of the Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.
IMSciences is a Government of Pakistan educational Institution that is fully autonomous in its functions. Excellence in teaching has been recognized by national and international agencies in partnerships and funding. The Higher Education Commission-USAID,
Khushhali Bank, the Japanese Government, Frontier Education Foundation (FEF) and UFONE all fund scholarships at IMSciences.
The Centre of Excellence in IT at IMSciences is currently running a variety of programmes including BCS, MSc Computer
Sciences, MS-IT and MS-CS (equivalent to MPhil) and PhD in CS/IT. We have highly qualified staff members from reputable international universities including University of Innsbruck, Austria, and University of Maryland, USA. The Centre has five faculty members holding PhD degrees in Computer Science. Moreover, our faculty has presented over fifty research papers in international conferences besides publishing papers in internationally peer-reviewed journals. The Centre’s faculty has won research projects worth over Rs. 30 million funded by the National ICT R&D Fund and HEC. Currently, four of our faculty members are among the HEC approved supervisors for MS leading to PhD in Computer Science/IT. We have five computer labs well-equipped with branded machines, and all the classrooms have multimedia facilities. IMSciences is a partner with HEC in the Pakistan Education Research
Network (PERN – phase 2) through which a robust Internet facility along with access to digital library is provided to the Institute.
HEC has recently established the ORIC (Offices of Research, Innovation & Commercialization) at IMSciences. The ORIC is responsible for assuring that the quality of research reflects the highest international standards and advances the stature of the Institute among the world’s best research institutions.
PhD CS/IT is a comprehensive research-based degree programme for candidates with a minimum of eighteen years of education in the field of computing. The programme is aimed at those students who want to pursue their career in research and academia. Students will be required to complete 18 credit hours of PhD level course work on the recommendations of their respective research supervisor, and research work carrying 36 credits. Degree requirement will include a comprehensive doctoral examination after completion of course work, acceptance of research proposal and carrying out research work of original nature, writing and defense of the thesis.

MS/MPhil. or equivalent in relevant discipline (with research thesis) securing minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 or 65% marks in annual system & GAT Subject (Computer Science) test with minimum 60% score.
MS Computer Science (CS) is a research-based degree programme for candidates with at least sixteen years education in the field of computing. The programme is aimed at those students who want to pursue a career in research. The MS-CS is aimed at those students who want to extend their knowledge to a more advanced and highly specialized material that reflects current research trends in cutting edge of various CS disciplines. The MS-CS is an independent programme, however, research work developed in MS programme can be stretched and made more comprehensive to serve as the research base for a PhD in CS provided the candidate fulfills all the requirements of the Institute and the HEC. Currently, in MS-CS, the Institute offers advanced courses in areas including Computer Networks, Databases, Software Engineering and Security Engineering.

16 years education from HEC recognized university with Computer Science as a first degree.
(min. CGPA 3.0/4.0 or 60% marks) & 50% marks in GAT General by NTS, Pakistan.
The MS-Information Technology (IT) programme is designed for an audience of professionals seeking to improve their applied knowledge in various domains of IT. This programme covers the latest trends that are vital for today´s modern business. The curriculum of MS-IT is a blend of latest technological topics and managerial skills that are vital for IT managers of large public and private sector companies. The core subjects in MS-IT curriculum cover areas like advanced

database management, information security and technology management. Areas of specialization include Advanced
Networks, Enterprise Resource Planning, Software Engineering, and Multimedia Technologies.
In order to cope with the market competitiveness and rapidly changing technological requirements, MS-IT programme has been designed as such that a student may opt between a research project and additional courses. However, students who intend to continue in the PhD programme must opt for a research thesis in MS.

16 years education from HEC recognized university with Computer Science/IT/MIS/Technology Management as a first degree. (min. CGPA 3.0/4.0 or 60% marks) & 50% marks in GAT General by NTS, Pakistan.

The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in the interview after which the merit list will be displayed.
