Dto Física de la Tierra II, Facultad de Cc Físicas, Universidad Complutense de
Madrid, 28040, Madrid, Spain
3./ Contribution:
a./ Role in Action: Member of the Action
Mention if you are member of the action, member of MC, chair / vice-chair
b./ Parts of the scientific programme where contributions will be made:
D2.1 Report on the scientific analysis of water vapor and its role in climate through
reports, scientific publications
Mention the Deliverables you wish to contribute from the Memorandum of Understanding
4./ Deliverables:
Mention the results you will share with the Action
D2.1 Report on the scientific analysis of water vapor and its role in climate through
reports, scientific publications
5./ Timetable:
Provide the timing of your activities with respect to the Action's timetable
I expect to contribute along the complete period
6./ Manpower approximately dedicated to the Action:
Give the approximate manpower dedicated to the activities included in the action
I plan to use around 20% of my research time to the action
7./ Assurance:
Mention the reasons why the proposed work will be done (sources of funding, availability of data /
tools, etc.)
I have access to the IGRA database and to supercomputer facilities, currently with climate model runs
from previous experiments. I have research money from two national programs aimed to analyse
moisture transport and tropopause variability.
8./ Foreseen collaboration:
I can contribute through the analysis of the role played by the tropopause, blocking, ENSO
and the Atmospheric General Circulation in the distribution of moisture, both derived from
reanalysis and models
9./ Previous experience:
Individual’s Name: Ricardo García Herrera
Give a brief resume of your experiences relevant for the COST action
I have previous experience in the analysis of atmospheric blocking variability, in the
propagation of ENSO signal in the stratosphere and QBO analysis from reanalysis and
models.
