1. On a separate piece of paper, provide definitions for the following terms;
Fault-Block Mtns
Folded Mtns
Volcanic Mtns
Upwarped Mtns
2. On a separate piece of paper, answer the following questions using COMPLETE
SENTENCES;
a.
Identify specific mountain ranges that can be classified as either Fault-Block
mountains, Folded mountains, Upwarped mountains and Volcanic mountains. (2
mks for correctly identifying specific mountain ranges for each term)
b. In your own words describe what mountain building is and describe some of the
younger mountain ranges found in the world today. (2 mks for quality of
response and inclusion of details)
c.
In your own words describe how the Himalya mountains and the Tibetan Plateau
were formed. (2 mks for quality of response and inclusion of details)
d. In your own words describe the Plate tectonics theory of mountain building. (2
mks for quality of response and inclusion of details)
3. Use the internet and word processor to create a collage of over 10
images of mountain ranges and/or peaks. For each image be sure to mention
the name of the mountain or its location. You will be marked out of 5 for
your ability to collect and identify 10 mountain ranges and/or peaks.
