Prayer for a Music Minister
Adapted from “Prayers For the Servants of God”
Lord, You have called me to be Your sacred instrument.
Through me and the gifts that You have given me,
I am to become a channel of Your mysterious grace.
May each song at each celebration give honor to You, my God and Lord.
Free of excessive nervousness and fear, and forgetful of myself, may I become a perfectly
tuned instrument through which You mysteriously will touch each person who will hear
the music prepared by me.
Free my heart of pride and of any desire for attention so that the divine melody may be
heard beneath each song, beneath every expression of my gifts.
May the sacred worship never be a performance but my prayer to you, my service to the
community and my gratitude for the gifts and talents that you have bestowed upon me.
May my whole life be a harmonious song of gratitude for all that has been given me.
May each service, both to friends and family, contain the melody of your divine heart.
I thank you for the honor of serving others by being Your instrument of beauty and
harmony.
I am Yours, play upon me.
