REQUENA FURNITURE COLLECTION Jose Luis Requena, with the help of the great draftsman, the Catalan Master Ramon P. Canto, and the engravers Master Ponposo, and el “Manquito”, decorated the house with this exuberant and ephemeral furniture style: Art Nouveau. The flowerlike, and undulant motives of the gobelin tapestry of the seats, match perfectly with the shapes of the furniture. The gobelins were made in Paris and Austria; inspired by the designs of Don Jose Luis Requena. In this page, you can see: the furniture of the living room, the music room, the dinning room, the main bedroom, the children bedroom, and the furniture of the bathroom; including a description of these artistic jewels. In recent dates, the Requena Furniture Collection increased according to the posthumous fulfillment of Mr. Fernando Fossas Requena’s will. This furniture and the one already exhibited complement each other in the ground floor of this mansion, and it is work of the same Mexican woodworkers, in accordance with the original designs of the creator: Mr. Jose Luis Requena Abreu. You will appreciate some artistic pieces as: El Calvario (the Calvary), and the Recamara de Pavo Real (Peacock Bed).
