Research Assistant Jan. *** - present
Participate in the project of Development of CO2 EOR Techniques for Unlocking Resources from Tight Oil Formations for
two years. My responsibilities include:
Communicating with stakeholders on the progress of project and generating progress report monthly.
Giving formal presentations to project stakeholders on the staged research achievements.
Engineer
Solving research issues of the project.
Working in Petroleum Lab to conduct CO2 flooding and waterflooding experiments with core samples from tight oil
formations (Nine sets of coreflooding experiments with tight core samples are completed, including waterflooding,
continuous CO2 flooding, CO***WAG flooding and CO2 huff and puff flooding, etc.).
Conducting coreflooding experiments, including waterflooding and CO2 flooding, with conventional core samples.
Processing field produced water and crude oil samples, and conducting oil sample properties analysis.
Operating and maintaining Petroleum Labs equipment, and familiar with standard lab operation procedures.
Conducting history match for coreflooding experiment results by using numerical simulation (CMG GEM, IMEX and
Winprop modules).
Conducting sensitivity analysis on operational parameters of different flooding schemes by numerical simulation in order
to maximize oil recovery from tight oil reservoirs.
Reservoir characterization and geological model development (CMG GEM and IMEX modules).
Performing field-scale history match for tight oil reservoirs with multi-stage fractured horizontal wells by using numerical
simulation (CMG GEM and Winprop modules).
Performing oil reserves estimation and CO2 EOR performance evaluation for a tight oil field from Bakken formation in
Southern Saskatchewan by numerical simulation.
