Using both qualitative and quantitative data, see how co-teaching can be considered to be “Best

Practice” in student teaching. This innovative program studied at St. Cloud State University in

Minnesota has four years of data that support the use of co-teaching as a way to best meet the needs of teacher candidates, P-12 learners, and cooperating teachers.

Day 1: Tuesday, Feb. 3, 9:00-3:00

Focus of Workshop: An overview of the co-teaching concept, why you might do it, the research that supports this approach, and how to implement a coteaching approach in your region.

Who should attend: University faculty, university supervisors, and school-based liaisons or coordinators, also consider inviting key school district personnel such as superintendents, principals, and staff development educators.

Day 2: Wednesday, February 4, 9:00-3:00

Focus of Workshop: Preparing cooperating teachers, student teachers, and university supervisors to use the co-teaching model. Participate in the inservice with St. Cloud faculty and selected cooperating teachers and their student teachers from

Seattle University’s MIT Program.

Who should attend: Those who want to observe the inservice process (trainers or trainees) which may include university field placement coordinators, university supervisors, and faculty.

The registration fee is $50 per day (includes lunch and morning coffee/tea). Space is limited.
