THE HORSE
Thierry Bisch is a famous French painter, and he paints mainly animals since the
2000’s! Reflections and thoughts upon society or innocence go through the
representation of animals. Astonishingly he makes them feel really human. "We were
born, we live, and we die". According to him, that's the only interesting subject in art.
He usually chooses to represent animals depending on his empathy for them.
However and unconsciously, their symbolism may have a special meaning for him.
When Rabbit for instance means the passing from childhood to adulthood, from
dream to reality, Horse symbolizes freedom and spaces.
“My favorite animal is definitively the Horse and above all the Arabic thorough bred horses.
They are amazing! So intelligent that they keeps shivering. I find this alliance between strength
and fragility very touching, but what most deeply touches me is the way the horse has always
been together with the man participating in all his conquests, wars, progress and evolution. I
strongly believe that the horse understands that. Seeing them slowly disappearing from the
farms, the industries or the cities makes me really nostalgic. Engines will never replace them;
we will always keep a specific and warm relationship with these wonderful animals.”
Thierry Bisch
In fact, serving man in wars, productivity, agriculture and development of all kinds,
the Horse is by far one of the largest contributors to the civilization’s progress. That’s
why in the Chinese zodiac, the Horse spirit animal symbolizes personal drive, passion
and appetite for freedom. This sign is endowed with all the vivacity, loyalty along
with the elegance of a thorough bred animal.

The horse will be the symbol of absolute happiness.
THE RED
Nicolas de Stael said: 'the first who told me that green is the grass and blue is the sky,
I'll beat him up”. According to Thierry Bisch, artists who belong to the Pop Art
perfectly succeeded in processing of color with black circles, tint areas and splitting
up of the compositions.
Red is the warmest of all colors. Red is the color of prosperity and joy. Red is
associated with energy, passion and lust.
No doubt that Thierry has wanted to associate the power, the beauty and the
strength of the horse with the energy and the passion of the red.
Put some red in your life,
You will increase enthusiasm and interest,
You will get more energy
You will protect you from fear and anxieties.
THE POP ART
Thierry Bisch is one of the protagonists of the digital revolution. Through aluminum
and a graphic palette, he sets up his photographs (from its original paintings) in the
style of the Pop Art: flashy colors on a black background. Sometimes, little things
(robots, balloons, planes.) float in the air, surrounding the figures and symbolizing fee
spirits and thoughts.
He wanted to innovate and offer a contemporary version of the Pop Art. This
“ETALON ROUGE” exhibition is the perfect illustration of his talent: celebrate the
traditions in a modern way. Trough this collection, he pays tribute to the year of the
Horse using the emblematic Chinese color of prosperity.
Does it exist a better way to wish everybody a prosperous and lucky new year
than joining the red color and a horse?

THIERRY BISCH, THE ARTIST
Thierry Bisch was born in 1953 in Strasbourg, France. He comes from a family with
industrial interests in France. The work of his celebrated great-grand father the
painter Louis Janmot (1814-1892), had a profound influence upon him. It is in 1978,
when he studied at the Fine Art department of the University in Toulouse, the
beginning of an enduring passion for life drawing.
In 1984 Thierry moved to Paris, the center of France’s art
community. While continuing to work on his drawings over the
following years, he took advantage of many work opportunities
in the art world. He co-founded the independent rock label
“Reflexes” and helped create and develop the well-known
French magazine, called “Zoulou”, for art designers. In 1986, he
wrote and produced a 52 minutes movie on French fashion
designer Thierry Mugler. The year following, he became Thierry
Mugler’s personal assistant for fashion photography, music, and
special projects. Their work took them on many foreign travels.
Ever since his studies at Toulouse University, he has continued to
practice sketching and painting, receiving many commissions
from private clients. He is a permanent artist resident at Hotel
Lutetia Paris since year 2000.
Thierry Bisch loves playing with contrasts, social codes and
paradoxes. His goal is to reveal his own reflections upon society,
religion, and contemporary world.
In January 2007 he was named with the rank of Chevalier in the
French order of Arts & Letters (“Chevalier des Arts et des
Lettres”).

HEDIARD Cafe-Boutique at Tudor Court brings a taste of Paris' gastronomic
perfection to Singapore. Entering this French Epicure Emporium, established since
2004 in Singapore, is like (re)discovering the pleasure of being in an elegant Parisian
café with a high end selection of menu items without the stuffiness of a traditional
French restaurant.
ABOUT ARTEMISS CONTEMPORARY GALLERY
Artemiss Contemporary is a new generation of gallery created in 2009. Call it
nomadic in concept, Artemiss Contemporary takes art to the people by holding
exhibitions in unusual places — restaurants, shops, salons, hotels, flats, as well as
participating to Art Fairs. The concept is also very closed and adapted to the actual
lifestyle: everybody travels, gets relocated, wants to discover more, farer and faster…
this makes our exhibitions lively.
Artemiss Contemporary is unique, innovative and dynamic: popular in Europe, this is
the first time the idea of a roving art gallery for Western art is being launched in Asia
(Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo). It’s the brainchild of gallery owner Clementine
de Forton.

“We want to display the artworks we love in living interiors,” she explains, “That way
anybody can see and appreciate the pieces in a friendly environment. We want to
share our passion for amazing European arts — photography, painting, mixed media,
and sculpture — with the widest group of people. Besides, these spaces have a
totally different atmosphere to galleries.”
The buzz of a venue filled with people having a good time lends an extra dimension
to artworks. An unexpected encounter with an artwork is like a moment out of time
— and that’s exactly the emotion the artist in our exhibition is trying to achieve.”
Our Objectives are to held regular exhibitions in various spaces, and to continue to
discover further talented artists to broaden the art scenery in Asia
In HEDIARD Cafe-Boutique,
All is about Passion, Energy, Elegance and Tradition
The values the artist is promoting in his “ETALON ROUGE” exhibition.
