the class. We will move quickly. It will be difficult to catch up even if you miss one week of
the class.

confirm the email address that you supplied, and will be asked to click the link to complete the
verification of your email address. Choose IBM SPSS Statistics Base GradPack version for 6
months.
Student version is the IBM SPSS Base GradPack without advanced functions and with ability to
store only 50 variables. IBM SPSS Standard GradPack is the full version of SPSS. Consequently,
if you have the full version you do not need the student version.
You also must have a simple calculator (square root function is the only extra feature you really
need). Texas Instruments TI-30XA (the price is $12.00) will be more than sufficient. A
calculator and SPSS should be used to complete your homework assignments.

It is imperative that you have the HEALEY text and the SPSS software before the beginning of
the class.
Prerequisites
Completion of an undergraduate upper division statistics course equivalent to PUB 305 at
CSUDH within the last three years.
You will need basic arithmetic skills. Reviewing Basic Mathematics Review in the Healey’s
book before the beginning of the semester is strongly recommended. If Healey’s review is not
sufficient for you, go to http://www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic. Review order of
operations, proportions and percentages. Take your time to work 20 -30 minutes every day with
KHANACADEMY before the beginning of the class.
You will need the Healey book for your PUB 504 , PUB 506 and your capstone classes. Please
do not sell your Healey book at least until the end of the MPA program 
