ESPAÑOL II - BIOGRAPHY RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT
OBJECTIVES:
By completing this assignment you will achieve the following three goals:
1. You will learn to conduct research using reliable and credible resources (i.e. NOT Wikipedia).
2. You will learn now to appropriately create citations for resources used with MLA format.
3. You will practice your communication skills in the target language – Spanish.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Choose one of the following Technology Moguls.
 Steve Jobs
 Steve Wozniak
 Mark Zuckerberg
 Bill Gates
 Michael Dell
 Douglas Englebert
 Gerald (Jerry) Lawson
 Larry Page
2. Using the resources provided by Mrs. Forsman at http://www.mcvts.net//Domain/538, conduct research on
the life of the person you selected.
 You MUST use at least THREE different sources.
 At least one source must be biography.com
 If needed, you may use ONE encyclopedia source.
3. Write a four paragraph biography (IN SPANISH!!!!) on the person you selected using the information you
found. Your essay should include the following information.
 Introduce your person.
 Who are they? Name, age, birthday, origin, residence, physical description, personality
 Provide information on the person’s childhood/ upbringing.
 Include information about where they went to school.
 Talk about the person’s family.
 Discuss how this person has contributed to technology. What are their accomplishments?
 Talk about other interests outside of technology (i.e. charitable work, hobbies)
 Provide your opinion about the person and their work.
 Provide a fact that you found interesting that the average person may not know.
 Cite a minimum of three resources in MLA format.
NOTE: The use of GOOGLE TRANSLATOR is completely forbidden. You may use Spanishdict.com OR a regular SpanishEnglish Dictionary to search for single words only. Anyone caught using GOOGLE TRANSLATOR to produce sentences
or phases will receive a ZERO for this assignment.
