TODAY at UUCC (April 19, 2015)
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES - "WEST SIDE NEIGHBORS" Trash
Pick Up Collaboration
As you may be aware the West Side Neighbors and a
few West Side Churches (including ours) will be working
together to clean up trash on some roads in our
neighborhood. Carie and I would like to have our UU
community involved and helping with this effort. I'm
not sure when the West Side Neighbors are planning to
do this, however, we can get a group together and work
for an hour or so anytime convenient with us. Please
let me know who is interested in helping with this one
time project. Thank you. Cheryl Clukey
cherylclukey5@yahoo.com or 441-0337
Services, 9:15 am & 11:00 am, “New Eyes for Gaia”
RE-Coming of Age, 9:30 am, Drew House
Leadership Council Meeting, Noon, Fellowship Hall
*Join Rev. Helen Zidowecki and Rev. Carie Johnsen for “New
Eyes for Gaia”. Gaia has no eyes but our eyes, no ears but
our ears, no hands but our hands, no voice but our voice.
Creator has blessed us with so very much, including
stewardship. How shall we respond to this formative call?
TODAY we will celebrate Peepers, small tree frogs that we
consider to be a sure sign of Spring. Kristina Oliveri heard
peepers on Tuesday April 14th around 8 p.m. in Pittston. As
the first person to notify the church, Kristina will have the
honor of caring for the brass frog statue until the next Peeper
Sunday.
RE - Coming of Age, 9:30 am, Drew House
A youth program for 14-15 year olds that helps youth
explore and express their own beliefs. This selfempowering program strengthens individual confidence
and youth are challenged to define their inner
convictions and act of them. For more information,
please contact UUCC’s Youth Advisor, Monique
McAuliffe youthadvisor@augustauu.org.
Leadership Council Meeting, Noon, Fellowship Hall
UUCC Leaders bring your bag lunch (beverages
available) to Fellowship Hall at Noon for our short but
significant meeting as we will look at a format for the
annual meeting reports due on May 1.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES - A Iranian Cooking Class
On Thursday, April 30th, 5:30 pm, Sura, a member of our
outreach Iranian family, will offer a IRANIAN cooking
class to our UU community. Sura will make a favorite
Iranian dish called dolmeh (stuffed grape leaves) that
we will all make together, then eat together. You know
how we UU's love to eat, so come and learn Iranian
cooking with us. For buying ingredients, I will need to
know how many people are interested in participating.
